Ember's POV
The pain was intense now that I couldn't hold it any longer.
I screamed so loud that birds flew out of the nearby pine trees. My whole body felt like it was being torn apart from the inside.
"Pull over!" Dr. Chen yelled at Ash. "The babies are coming right now!"
Ash's hands gripped the steering wheel so tight his knuckles turned white. "There's nothing here but trees and snow!"
"I don't care if we have to deliver them in a snowbank! Stop the car!"
Another wave of pain crashed over me. This time I bit my lip so hard I tasted blood. The babies were pushing down, trying to get out whether we were ready or not.
"There!" Ash pointed through the windshield. "I see something!"
Through my tears, I could barely make out a small wooden building hidden behind some trees. It looked old and broken down, but it had four walls and a roof.
Ash drove off the road and parked right next to the building. Before the engine even stopped, he was out of the car and running to my door.
