Ash's POV
The first warrior reached for Ember just as I saw the blood pooling at her feet.
"No!" I roared, throwing myself at him.
My fist went for his jaw. He went down hard, his head hitting the wooden floor with a crack. The other warriors rushed forward, but I was already moving.
Years of hockey fights had taught me how to move fast in tight spaces. I grabbed a chair and swung it at the second warrior. Wood splintered across his chest.
"Ash, behind you!" Cade shouted.
I turned around just as a third warrior lunged at me. His claws were out, going for my throat. I ducked and drove my shoulder into his stomach. We both crashed into the wall.
"Get Ember out of here!" I yelled to Dr. Chen.
The doctor was already helping Ember toward the back door. Ember's face looked exhausted but she was moving. That's all that mattered.
"Stop them!" Victoria screamed. "Don't let her escape!"
