POV: Jake (Ash's brother)
The smell of blood hit me before I even got out of my truck.
I jumped down and ran toward the old cabin where my wolf nose told me Ash was hurt. Behind me, my hockey teammates were doing the same thing. All six of us had driven through the night to get here after Ash sent that scary text message.
"Help," was all it said. But when your brother only sends one word, you know something really bad is happening.
Tommy, our goalie, shifted into his gray wolf form right there in the snow. "I smell rogues," he growled through our mind link. "And lots of blood."
"Stay together," I told the team. "Whatever's in there, we handle it as a pack."
But when I kicked open that cabin door, nothing could have prepared me for what I saw.
Victoria was standing over my bleeding brother with a gun in her hand. Ash was on his knees, holding his shoulder where blood was coming out. And there was Cade, lying on the floor with blood spreading across his chest.
