POV: Dr. Chen
My hands were shaking as I hung up the phone.
Thirty years of being a pack doctor, and I'd never seen anything like this. The blood test results were sitting on my desk, and they made no sense at all.
I grabbed my medical books and ran toward Ember's room. The other doctors thought I was crazy, but they didn't understand what was happening. This wasn't just medicine anymore. This was ancient wolf magic that most people thought was just stories.
When I burst through the door, all three of them looked at me with hope in their eyes.
"Dr. Chen!" Ember said. "Did you find out what's wrong with me?"
I looked at the blood test papers again, hoping I'd read them wrong. But the numbers were still the same.
"I have good news and very bad news," I said, sitting down heavily in the chair.
"Give us the bad news first," Ash said.
"The blood tests confirm what the nurse suspected. Ember, you have something called a 'twin flame bond' with both men."
