It had been about 2 weeks since Chimchar hatched.

After catching the Chimchar with the Pokeball, Forest noticed another section, "Moves."

When he tried looking at other pokemon afterward he didn't see it still, so maybe it's only with caught pokemon.

Well anyways, he felt lucky that Chimchar was born with not only one move but two.

'Hmm, it seems that he has an innate ability for punching things, I guess that's how I should train him."

Although it wasn't like the games, and you could learn more than 4 moves, typically limit the number of moves their pokemon learn, simply because if they learn too many moves, they would never really master any.

So people tend to focus on a type of move and stick to it.

There are lots of things people focus on, whether it's just focusing on physical or special attack moves, or even one type of move, like fire or water.

Seeing that Chimchar hatched with 2 physical moves, Forest decided to focus more on the physical side, although he never discarded special moves from his mind. They could be a good trump card if he ever gets pushed back.

"Hey, Chimchar," Forest called "Come over here for a second."

Chimchar who was previously upside down ran over to Forest and looked at him with expecting eyes.

"Hey, buddy, what do you think about having your own name?" Forest asked

'I don't really want to keep calling him Chimchar, although it's what he is, it's like calling a dog 'Dog.' It just doesn't feel right.'

Chimchar tilted his head to the side as if he was confused.

Forest pointed to himself and said "My name is Forest," He then pointed at Chimchar and said, "Do you want a name?"

Chimchar looked as if he was thinking very hard for a couple of moments before smiling and jumping up and down.

"Chim! Chimchar!!"

"Haha, I take that as a yes." He said

'Hmm, let's see, you're a fire type so I'll name you after that...'

Forest sat in thought for a bit before deciding.

"Hmm how about Igna? It kind of sounds like 'Ignite,' you like fire right?"

Once again Chimchar looked as if he was thinking as hard as he could before nodding with his monkey smile.

"Haha, okay Chimchar. From now on you are now Igna!" I said with a smile

--

The next day.

--

"Okay Igna," Forest said "Since you had just hatched, I decided to wait to train you, now is the day we begin our training!"

"Char!!"

"That's the spirit!"

Forest with Igna in tow walked to a nearby tree and said

"Okay, use [Fire Punch!] on the tree!"

Forest waited with anticipation.

..

...

But nothing happened?

Forest looked over at Igna, who had a confused look on his face. It then dawned on him that his poor Chimchar probably had no idea what a fire punch even was, let alone how to do it.

It was easy to forget that he was just born like 2 weeks ago, at least for Forest.

He then spent some time explaining what a punch was and how to throw one.

Igna sort of seemed to get it, he kept trying but he couldn't quite make a fire punch.

Forest called it quits for the day and they went inside.

The next couple of days all they did was train punching.

Days turned to a week

After putting all this time into punching, Igna got mad because he couldn't do it as he wanted to, and tried to punch a level 12 Caterpie, before getting bitten.

Needless to say, he didn't mess with the Caterpie anymore.

Seeing that his training just wasn't working, Forest tried talking with Igna.

Forest walked up to Igna who was sitting under a tree that looked like it was missing a lot of bark on one side. He looked the saddest Forest had ever seen him.

"Hey buddy, don't be sad, it takes time to learn new things." He said as nice as he could

Igna just looked at him with sad eyes.

"How about instead of getting mad at everything else, you put all of your anger into your punch!!"

"See when you use your emotions you can have better results!"

"So instead of wallowing away here all by yourself, do something about it!"

These words seemed to hit Chimchar.

He stood up and looked determined as he looked a the tree.

He powered himself up for a punch

"Chim!!"

His fist caught fire

"Char!!!"

*BANG*

A large boom resounded around

The tree now had a hole the size of Ignas fist, that went about an inch deep. There were cinders in that area burning brightly as a slight breeze blew the smoke away.

Although at first dumbstruck, Forest said "Igna you did it!!" He put his hand out for a high five.

Igna also looked a bit shook, he looked at Forest jumped and slapped his hand in the air.

"Chimchar!! Char!!"

Forest was very proud, but then he realized something.

Igna slapped his hand with the same one he used to punch the tree.

"OUCH!"
