"Go Igna!!" Forest pointed at the Bellsprout
"Char!!" He bounded towards it
The Bellsprout was walking around when it noticed a Chimchar running towards it.
It immediately got into a defensive position and began using Vine Whip.
"Igna, try to dodge those!" Forest yelled
Igna tried his best to avoid the vines but he still ended up getting slapped a couple of times.
"Chim... char..." Igna panted
'Hm, Igna is in a bad place right now. He can't get close enough to use Fire Punch. I haven't had enough time to teach him any ranged moves so all he can do is try to get close... but how?"
He looked at the battle for answers.
'That's it!'
"Igna! Use [Fire Punch] on the ground towards the Bellsprout!"
He looked confused. "Char??"
"Just do it! Trust me!" Forest encouraged
"Char!" He began to power up his attack and
*BOOM*
Dust flung into the air.
The Bellsprouts vision was currently impaired and it could only wildly swing its vines around.
"Igna, sneak around and hit it with [Fire Punch] when you see an opening!]
A few moments passed by and Igna made his move.
*BOOM*
'Super Effective!' Forest said in his mind
The Bellsprout was barely conscious, it could no longer battle.
All it took was one move to end the battle.
"Good job Igna!! That was your first real battle!"
"Chimchar! Chim Char!!" Igna was visibly excited
As he was praising Igna, he noticed something looking at him. As he looked closer he realized it was a huge Victreebell.

'Oh no!! I've defeated the son and now his mom is coming for me!'
Forest saw no chance of running from such a Pokemon, so he did what he thought would help.
"I am sorry Miss Victreebel, you see I was just playing around with Bellsprout over here haha," Forest said with no shame "I mean no harm, truly"
Forest desperately wanted to get out of this situation. That Victreebel has probably eaten things his size for breakfast. He stands there with cold sweat running down his back.
The Victreebel started hopping over to Bellsprout, looked over his injuries before looking over at me once more.
It felt like minutes, not mere seconds as it felt like she was peering into my soul.
"Treebel, Bel" She said before picking Bellsprout up and hopping away
Forest vaguely felt that she said something along the lines of 'I'll let you off this time.' but he didn't ponder that for too long. He felt like he just dodged the biggest bullet ever.
He picked up his Chimchar, who wasn't really aware of what could have just happened and made his way back home.
As he walked in the door, the Directress was there too.
"How was it? Are you okay? Did anything happen?" She hit him with a barrage of questions
"Yeah, haha. I'm fine" Forest said
He then told her about his first battle and about his encounter with the Victreebel. After he expressed his confusion about why the Victreebel left him alone, the Directress said "Well maybe it sensed you truly meant no harm, Pokemon have a stronger grasp over emotions after all."
"True.." Forest said
He did notice that Igna would notice when he was feeling down. Igna tried to make him feel better by doing his little flips and spins. (which most of the time did help)
"Okay Directress I am really tired after today, I'm gonna head to bed. Goodnight"
"Goodnight, Forest" She said sweetly
He then fell asleep the moment he hit the pillow. The day had caught up with him.
