Anna, still stunned by what she had seen, locks the exit with the keys she took and walks back to her cell.
She looks at Sid lying unconscious on the floor and feels repulsed.
So she is one of them. I can't believe I thought she was my friend.
Anna turns Sid's face upward, places one knee on her and puts her weight on it. She begins slapping Sid to wake her up.
'Hey, bitch.' She slaps her.
'Hey, floozy.' She slaps her again.
'Wake up, before I slap your face off.'
Sid begins to stir awake from the constant pain of being slapped.
She opens her eyes to see Anna on top of her, just as Anna gives her one final slap for good measure.
Damn, this is a predicament.
I let my guard down, Sid thinks.
'So you're finally awake, you sloozy.' Anna places the knife beside Sid's neck as a greeting.
'Sloozy? Where did you pick that up from? Wasn't it bitch a while ago?' Sid questions, unimpressed.
'I thought the knife was warning enough.' Anna presses it even closer. 'Shut up unless I ask you to speak.'
She turns her head towards the entrance.
'I saw what your people were doing out there.' She turns back to Sid. 'Sloozy would be selling it short.'
Sid grows visibly angrier.
'Don't just—'
Anna's knife draws blood.
'I thought I told you not to speak.' She warns Sid again with a cold look in her eyes. 'I don't want to hear your rabble. What I want from you is the location of Quin and Zane and a way out of this hell cruise. Got that?'
Sid simply glares back at Anna.
'I said, got that?' Anna repeats but Sid doesn't respond so Anna gives her another slap across the face.
'I think there's something you're misunderstanding. I will not hesitate to cut your neck open if you're not useful to me. Any mercy I had for you was gone from the moment you betrayed us and put my friends in danger.'
She places the knife back at Sid's throat.
'I won't repeat myself again. Got that?'
Sid gives a small nod in confirmation.
'That's great.'
'First of all, tell me where Quin is.'
Sid opens her mouth to talk, having been permitted by Anna.
'He is on a lower level, in Catherina's chambers.'
'Catherina? And Zane?'
'He is on the lowest floor.'
What is all this talk about chambers and floors?
'So where are we now?'
'This is—' Sid struggles to breathe. 'The highest floor, the boss's chambers.'
Anna loosens her leg from Sid for a moment, allowing her to breathe, before putting it right back.
'What do you mean, boss's chambers? Be clearer with your explanation.'
Sid stares at Anna, unimpressed, for a moment.
'The boss is the owner of this ship, and his chambers are where he stores his property. Every important and high-ranking person on this ship has their own chamber, and the lowest floor is a public cell where all the rejects are. That is where your friend Zane is right now.'
Anna's face dawns with a worried expression.
'And Quin? You said something about a Catherina before.'
'That's right. Catherina is someone who is directly under the boss. She was the daughter of the former boss, so she has a large sway on the gang—'
Anna cuts her off.
'Not about that. I'm asking about Quin.'
Sid struggles a bit due to the discomfort before continuing.
'Catherina liked Quin and decided to take him as her property.'
'What do you mean, property?' Anna repeats in distress.
'Boy toy,' Sid states bluntly.
'Boy toy?!' Anna's confusion quickly turns into fury. 'I knew you guys were nothing but a bunch of whores.'
Sid doesn't say anything in response but is clearly phased by the comment.
'So why am I here then? Does that mean I'm the boss's toy?' Anna ponders after her sudden realization.
'Technically, everyone is. But no. I initially thought you would be of more use. That is why I brought you here beforehand, but you were a disappointment, so all I needed from you was the location of your base before I sent you to the lowest level.'
'And why would you think I was important?'
'Because you could see the monsters before everyone else.'
Anna becomes stunned at the mention of it because she never told her.
Then she remembers when they were about to escape from the gangsters in the car and she told everyone to run.
So she was able to figure it out from that brief encounter.
'Way to bite the hand that fed you. I tried to save you, and look at what I get in return.'
Sid cracks a smile.
'I was never really in danger. Call this my payment for saving you from your ex-boyfriend.'
Anna stabs down, piercing Sid's ear with the knife as a reminder to be quiet.
And she does.
'I should have known the type of wretch you were after you didn't bat an eye at killing someone.'
'Enough of this.' Anna flips Sid onto her back and begins undoing some of the ropes binding her. 'You're my hostage now, so you're going to take me to where Quin and Zane are being kept, you're going to free them, and then get us the hell out of here.'
As Anna is unbinding Sid, she notices that she can move her hands and tries to use the opportunity to escape, but Anna bumps her head with the butt of the knife.
'So you are a snake as well. I should have guessed. Don't try that again or next time I won't be using the back.'
She ties Sid's hands again, but behind her back this time. Her legs are freed, but there is a rope connecting her neck and waist to her hands tied behind her back.
Sid speaks up.
'Do you really think no one will notice when they see me walking around like this?'
Anna doesn't answer her immediately.
'Notice how I told you to shut up and you're still talking.'
Anna takes off her baggy turtleneck sweater. She is wearing a half-cut singlet underneath it. She places it over Sid, forcing her to wear it.
'Don't do that again. When we are outside, I won't hesitate to stab you dead.'
She makes Sid stand up and looks at her from a distance.
Her hair is all messy, and the ends of her hair are still inside the sweater, which has two empty, flailing sleeves. With Sid's frowning face in the mix, Anna can't help but smile.
'Don't worry. We're going to fit right in.'
