"Daddy! Can we go outside?" Jin tugged lightly on Hiro's sleeve, his words coming out in the excited, slightly unclear way they always did. "I've been inside all day!"
Hiro looked down at the little boy before glancing through the window.
The sky was clear, the autumn sun hanging high above the countryside. Although the weather looked pleasant, the wind carried enough chill to remind everyone that winter was only two months or less away.
"We can," Hiro answered after a moment. "Go put on your jacket."
"Yay!" The little boy hurried upstairs as fast as his tiny legs could carry him.
Just then, Yulia stepped into the living room.
"Where are you two going?"
"The beach."
"The beach?" she repeated, staring at her son. "Hiro, it's too cold."
"We're not swimming."
"Even so, the wind is strong."
"I'll dress him warmly."
"He's only six." Yulia sighed.
"I'm his father."
"I know that."
"Then don't tell me what to do."
