Coincidentally, Wang Fu Ya entered the classroom at that exact moment. She purposefully made her way toward Yu Qi, her steps light and graceful.
"Yu Qi, are you really okay?" Wang Fu Ya asked with a voice full of deep concern, though her eyes told a completely different story.
'Wow, what a dedicated actress. She is truly great at this.' Yu Qi thought.
If she didn't already know Wang Fu Ya's true, venomous nature from her previous life, she might have been fooled by this sympathetic act once again.
Yu Qi knew that the girl was only hovering because she wanted to secure the essay she had demanded. Yu Qi gave a small, compliant nod.
Seeing this, Wang Fu Ya smiled, satisfied that she was getting what she wanted. A dark, fleeting shadow flashed across Yu Qi's eyes. She had already planned every step of what was to come.
"Fu Ya, why are you even bothering with her? She is always being targeted by those girls. If you keep talking to her, you might end up getting bullied by them, too!" One of Wang Fu Ya's friends grabbed her hand, pulling her away from Yu Qi as if she were contagious.
"But she is one of our classmates... I just can not stand the thought of her being bullied all the time." Wang Fu Ya replied, flashing a sad, martyr-like smile before lowering her head modestly.
'What a perfect White Lotus. She really missed her calling as a professional actress.' Yu Qi mused bitterly.
Most people would never suspect that the real reason Yu Qi was being bullied by those girls in the first place was because of Wang Fu Ya's own meddling.
Wang Fu Ya had incited those girls to bully her by planting the idea that Yu Qi was trying to seduce their boyfriends. In reality, Yu Qi had only spoken to those boys once, and the conversation had been strictly about homework.
But with Wang Fu Ya's subtle instigations, those girls became consumed by jealousy and began their relentless harassment.
In her past life, Yu Qi had not understood why Wang Fu Ya had turned those girls against her until the day she accidentally overheard a conversation between Wang Fu Ya and Wang Ha Na. They had been laughing about how Yu Qi's grades were plummeting because of the stress of the bullying. Back then, she had been too weak to do anything about it.
The first lesson of the day, Chemistry, began. Yu Qi had always liked this subject. Even though she had already mastered these lessons in her previous life, she still listened attentively to the lecture.
After two hours of study, they were granted a fifteen-minute break. Wang Fu Ya immediately shot a subtle signal to Yu Qi, gesturing for her to follow her out of the room. Yu Qi knew exactly what was coming. It was time to hand over the essay.
Yu Qi pulled the essay from her bag and quickly followed Wang Fu Ya. They moved to a secluded, empty corridor where they would not be overheard.
"Give it to me." Wang Fu Ya commanded, making a sharp 'hand it over' gesture. She looked at Yu Qi and realised Yu Qi seemed kind of hesitant to give it to her. "What?"
"I... I did not have time to make a second copy for you. This one is actually mine. I ran out of time yesterday." Yu Qi said, clutching the paper tightly.
"Just give this one to me then!" Wang Fu Ya snapped, literally robbing the paper out of Yu Qi's hands.
She happily erased Yu Qi's name from the top, scrawled her own name in its place, and hurried away without a second glance.
Yu Qi watched her go, a cold, icy smile spreading across her face. 'Go ahead, be happy for now. It will only make it more satisfying when I finally destroy you.'
'Master, what exactly are you going to do to her?' Bo Ya's curious voice echoed in her mind.
You will see very soon, Bo Ya.' Yu Qi laughed inwardly, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.
