The continuous screaming and knocking interrupted Yu Qi's sleep. She was forced to open her eyes. A sharp pain suddenly struck her head, causing a painful sound to escape from her mouth.
"Argh… my head. It really hurts." She held her head.
Fortunately, the pain only lasted for a short moment. Just then, she realised that she had instinctively touched her head with her hand.
She stared at her hands. Slowly, she moved her fingers several times, trying to make sure that she was not dreaming.
After confirming that this was not a dream, tears began to fall from her eyes. Her legs were also perfectly fine. They had not been cut off.
'Wait, something felt different.' She quickly began looking around her surroundings. This room… this was her room from ten years ago. She immediately climbed down from her bed.
Standing up straight, she felt strange. When she looked down, she noticed that her chest was much smaller than before.
'Something is not right. I am already dead. I was already dead. So why am I here? Everything that happened before was real. The bleeding, the pain… everything.'
She picked up a small mirror and looked at her reflection. The face staring back at her was the face she had when she was sixteen years old.
She had really returned to the past.
'I'm back... to the past.'
She slowly smiled at the mirror while gently touching her face.
The knocking on the door continued impatiently.
At this time in her life, she was living with her adopted family. But back then, she had known nothing about the truth of her adoption. They had never told her.
She walked to the door and opened it.
The first person she saw was her young adopted sister, Wang Ha Na.
"Hey! Why are you still sleeping? I've been knocking on your door for so long." Wang Ha Na complained impatiently. "I'm hungry. Hurry up and make breakfast."
A cold light flashed across Yu Qi's eyes.
She clearly remembered now that she had lived like a servant in this house. This family had always treated her like this.
They treated her like a slave who could be ordered around at any time.
Back then, she had believed it was normal to help her family. However, in their eyes, she had never been family at all.
Wang Ha Na suddenly shivered slightly and hugged her own body. She did not understand why she suddenly felt so uncomfortable.
Looking around, she could not find anything unusual. When she raised her head again, she saw Yu Qi smiling at her. Seeing that smile somehow made her feel better, so she released her arms from around her body.
"Quick. I'm hungry." Wang Ha Na repeated impatiently.
A cold smile slowly appeared on Yu Qi's lips.
She closed the door and began to change her clothes. After finishing, she walked out of her room.
When she stepped into the living room, she saw the people she had once believed to be her family.
