Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

He did a quick half squat then he was off with a mighty jump. I gave everyone a two finger salute, flexed my legs, then I was off following Arcanine across the rooftops of the boardwalk. I may have been a sore loser because between one kick and the next. I had my regalia activated and was racing neck to neck with mahh boy Arcanine. He gave me a look, then eyes glinted as he poured on the speed.

Tsunade did a yelp before getting low and close to his body while holding on tight. A deep dark chuckle escaped me as I broke the sound barrier between one step and the next. Arcanine on my side the whole time.

*Bump*

My head whipped around eyes wide as I veered off to the side as Tsunade shot me a cracked smile. How dare she have mahh boy betray me like that. The bump was barely anything, but it was more than enough to knock me off course when I didn't have my legs planted.

Arcanine let out a howl as he blasted by flames under his mighty paws the entire way. Thinking fast, I had to fan my hands out a bit as I caught the air and redirected it to my air treks.

It was a damn good save, but it was also too late as Tsunade and Arcanine made it to the hospital a solid 3 seconds before me. I was going to take my loss like a good sport, but that booty looked too good.

So on my fly by, I gave it a spank.

There was a yelp behind me, but I was already moving through the hospital's double doors. Arcanina gave a mighty woof as he huffed and trotted along. A hop and a click sent my air treks to storage.

As I walked into my lab, Arcanine stopped and looked back over his shoulders.

"You can go if you want," I commented as I sat down at my work station. A mental command had the station booted up as blueprints and programs uploaded themselves.

The big baby huffed at me, turned around and left with only a minor glance back. With a chuckle, I shook my head as I pulled up the specs for the microbots. The idea had struck me as I ranted on my soapbox about how trash Armsmaster was. With a little tk, I sent myself into a spin as my chair rolled across the lab and towards the containment area.

Flicking the switch active I waited for the faint hum to vanish into the background before I started. First I started with the servos and the omnidirectional joint, then the laser emitter was tossed to the wayside. It was replaced with a focusing beam tied to the tesseracts emitter array. The micro control array was added and then I made sure to include an inductive power function.

This meant that if the microbots got too far from my location, let's say half a mile, they powered down, teleported back or just self-destructed. With the internals sorted out, I gave the nanobots a layer of carbon polymers to give it a nice matte black look. Once I was happy with that, I ran it through a few tests.

Twenty minutes later, I felt it was time to multiply, 2 became 4 which became 8, then 16, 32 and the rapid multiplication just exploded from there. The numbers rapidly shot upwards as not only the tesseract made microbots, but also the little bots themselves. Then, I set the majority to automated functions while I played with ten bots separately. Might as well put my multitasking skills to work.

First I had the bots build rings separately, which worked then, I had them form into a circle and construct a pillar upwards. This helped me find a few defects and issues with the programming since this wasn't the typical 3D printer. Rebar had a separate cook and projection time from concrete and steel which means that the inner layers would complete long before the outer panels and the internal structures. I frowned at that, but it was better I learned about this now instead of later.
