Chapter 21 - Cute

"Yo, Fuutarou, wake up. Why the hell are you sleeping at your own wedding?" Fuutarou hummed as his eyes fluttered open. He rubbed his eyes as he looked at Mikey smiling at him. The man before him had aged up a bunch, looking like a fully fledged adukt and had a different haircut.

"Did you not get any sleep last night? C'mon man, you can't keep everyone waiting. I swear your sense of timing has worsened."

"Huh..." A confused Fuutarou followed Mikey to a giant hall. He widened his eyes as he was met with the Tokyo Manji gang, wearing suits. He looked at his father and sister, they too having aged up a lot.

"C'mon man, get up there." Mikey pushed Fuutarou forward. Fuutarou looked back at Mikey who smiled and nodded at him. Fuutarou stood up at the altar, gulping a little.

Just then, the door to the hallway opened again. The guests started clapping and cheering. Fuutarou couldn't see properly from where he was standing. But the groom was sure about something.

He saw five silhouettes....

...

" Big bro! Wake up! Breakfast is ready!"

" Huh...." Fuutarou opened his eyes, only to be met with his sister smiling down at him.

"It was just a dream...." He muttered to himself as he slowly sat up. Raiha tilted her head. "What was? Were you dreaming about a girl?" She asked curiously before smirking.

"Oooo you were dreaming about Rena weren't you?"

"Nope." Fuutarou walked past her as Raiha followed him, now walking by his side.

"Then who is it? Is it another girl or something? Don't tell me you've moved on from Rena." They went downstairs to the spacious dining room together, a huge upgrade from their old apartment they had left years ago. His father hadn't sold that apartment, rather renting it out as a source of side income.

"Nah, it's something absurd..." He muttered as he sat down with Raiha. He still couldn't believe that they were in a new house even though it's been years ever since his father bought it. Isanari didn't even pay any monthly fees, the man had bought it straight up with cash, and most importantly without taking out any loans.

"Tell meeeeeee." His sister whined.

"I dreamed I was in a wedding as the groom. When it was time for the bride to enter the hall, I saw five people. I didn't see their faces, but I knew for a fact that they were all wearing wedding gowns...." Raiha blinked as she drank her tea while listening to her brother's story.

"Hmm...." She rubbed her chin before huffing a little. "I don't know what to say to that, big bro. It really is absurd. Though..." She smiled.

"If you married five girls, means I get five sisters right? Wouldn't that be nice?"

"W-well...." Fuutarou cleared his throat. "Polygamous marriages are kind of illegal here you know?"

"Well then maybe it's time to use that Toman influence of yours. I'm sure they'll listen with a bit of 'persuasion' and bend the rules for you." Raiha suggested like it was the easiest thing to perform in the world. Fuutarou palmed his face as she grinned.

"How am I going to fall in love with five girls in the first place? That's completely impossible." Raiha raised her hands up at his words.

"Hey, you never know your destiny right? Who knows what would happen in the future. Either way, whoever you marry, I support you. Unless you know.... if that girl is a bitc—"

"Ahem anyways, we're supposed to be going to school. So let's finish this meal and let's go."

"Hehe~ Alright big bro."

....

"This would never get old..." Fuutarou whispered after starting the engine to his motorbike. Last year when he turned sixteen, Fuutarou immediately applied for a motorbike license the next day. And this year after receiving his license, Fuutarou finally bought his first bike. It wasn't anything crazy, just a black Yamaha MT-15, but boy did it feel great hearing the roar of the engine.

It was a practical bike too since Fuutarou lives in the city. The MT-15 was practically made for city use due to it's mileage, and it's pretty comfortable to ride on. Fuutarou wasn't going for a pure performance bike just yet, even with money in his pocket, Fuutarou's brain doesn't suddenly swap operating systems.

Wealth doesn't uninstall personality after all. Even if Fuutarou were rich, he wouldn't buy a superbike for the same reason he wouldn't buy a gold-plated calculator. It does the same math, while begging for attention.

For now, getting to point A to point B on time is the important part, and it's not like the ride's not going to be enjoyable. Sports bikes is just not the optimal use of his wealth at this point of his life. Having money didn't push him towards luxury, if anything, it only made him more selective.

"Raiha, you good to go?" He asked his little sister who just finished locking the front door of their house. Raiha nodded, putting on her black helmet and got on the backseat of the motorbike.

"Let's go!"

...

"I heard Uesugi's got a bike now."

"Yeah, did you see him rolling into the school with it? It kinda looks cool to be honest."

"Nah, he's just showing off. How'd he get a bike anyways? Isn't that thing expensive? No way his family just spent it all on him."

'You guys need to get a life.' Fuutarou mentally groaned as he lined up at the school cafeteria. The first week of school was nothing special, but their teachers did give them mock tests to reevaluate their abilities.

"Look at that chick, she bought so much food. That's like a thousand yen just for recess. Aren't girls supposed to be super conscious of their weight?" Fuutarou shook his head and shut them out, forcing himself to not pay attention to their useless gossip.

He didn't enjoy having enhanced senses due to these moments, having to hear what they have to say about other people, but mostly it was about him, the 'Scoring Anomaly of Asahiyama High'. Sometimes he wished he didn't have these abilities, ignorance is more merciful than the truth sometimes.

"Hello, can I have the Yakiniku set please?"

"Coming right up." The lunch lady smiled at Fuutarou's politeness as she prepared his meal. A few moments and a transaction later, Fuutarou walked away with his lunch tray in hand, heading towards his usual spot in the corner of the cafeteria.

He placed his tray on the table. "Huh?" He glanced to his side, noticing someone else also put their own tray on it at the same table. 'That uniform isn't ours... Transfer student maybe?' He wondered as he got a good look at the person before widening his eyes. Oh was he starstruck from her looks.

Light pink hair with an expression ahoge and a pair of star-shaped hairpins near both of her big starlike eyes. He can't help but receive flashbacks from Rena, this girl looked exactly like her but all grown up. He shut those thoughts off, maybe this was another person, plus he would avoid the embarrassment of getting it wrong.

"Excuse me." She called him politely. Fuutarou smiled a little in return.

"Hello, what great timing we both have." He commented about the situation. The girl giggled a little and nodded. He looked around the cafeteria, noticing that it was filled to the brim with students.

"Looks like there aren't any seats left. Why not you sit here and I'll eat at class?" Fuutarou suggested. The girl widened her eyes a little. If her memory served her correctly from her tour of the school, the route of the cafeteria to the classrooms were quite far away. She couldn't possibly let him walk that far while she was here enjoying her meal. That didn't sit well with her.

"N-no need. How about we sit together? That way both of us get to enjoy our meal." She suggested. Fuutarou smiled as they both sat down together before they dug into their meals. He couldn't help but notice the meal she was having. He realized that this was the girl that the gossipers were talking about, the one that spent a little over 1000 yen for a meal.

'What's the problem with that though...' Fuutarou shook his head. His eyes narrowed as he heard whispers behin his back. His enhanced hearing is a curse at this point.

"Look man, Uesugi's sitting with a hot chick. You think he forced her to sit there?" Fuutarou glanced and noticed that the pink haired girl had a flustered expression on her. It seems she had also overhead them too.

"Hey." The girl looked at him. The boy grinned at her. "Don't mind them, they're just envious I'm sitting with a cute girl like you. I don't bite even though they claim I do."

"Cu-cute?!" The girl stuttered out, that was the only word she got from his talk. There was no way this was happening. All her life there was no boy that called her that except for her mom. And now this stranger in front of her admitted it, and very casually too!

"Yup." He nodded, though secretly panicking about his slip of the tongue. He calmed down after sensing that she was enjoying the praise. He cleared his throat.

"Just relax and enjoy your meal. Right now, I want you to focus on me."

"A-alright..."
