The reason Gideon was so persistent and genuinely interested in the case was because of a woman whose husband was killed in the recent incident. The woman begged him to do whatever it took to make sure the killers of her husband were brought to justice.
Apart from that, part of the reason Gideon could put his life on the line for his job was because of what his mother told him before passing away. She was involved in the mutation years ago, but her body cells fought it, and that resulted in her losing her life. Before that, she asked Gideon to make sure this city becomes a safe place for people to live in.
Gideon's fingers strolled over to a specific section of one of the pictures, and on it held the specific clue he was looking for hours while researching all the evidence. "Got it. As I had figured, they should be at the Golden Hue Club tonight. Maybe if I'm lucky, I can get to the black Bull boss and take him down once and for all."
In one of the pieces of evidence Gideon was having, he came across a specific one that pinpointed the location of the Black Bull cartel boss, and he was going to be present in one of the clubs in the eastern part of the city, a well-known club built of luxury. The club is a place where wrong men hang out and spend lavishly.
Night fell, and at exactly nine pm, Gideon headed out. He dressed casually, wearing a black coat and a cap, his eyes covered with a dark pair of eyeglasses. In his coat, he held the gun that contained the mutant neutraliser, and though he had no idea if the Black Bull cartel boss was a mutant or not, all he knew was that he was going to bring him down for sure.
Gideon heads out. He got in a taxi and instructed the driver to take him to the Golden Hue Club. And due to the popularity of the location, the driver nodded. And so the car sped with Gideon down the Golden Hue Club.
Within minutes Gideon was already there. He stood at the entrance as different men stormed in, but he wanted to observe before making a move. After noticing it was okay to step in, Gideon made his move.
The club was buzzing with music, and people filled the residence dancing, but Gideon remained untouched; his main purpose was to look for a clue that could pinpoint him to the exact person he was looking for.
After a while of constant concentration, Gideon noticed a man walking into the club. The moment he did, everywhere fell silent, music stopped, and people moved out of the way for him to step in like he was some sort of demigod.
"There's no doubt, this is definitely the Black Bull cartel boss," Damien mumbled in realisation. He had never seen the cartel boss, but with the aura the man used in coming into the club, it strongly suggested that he was the one. And most of all, the man was backed by hefty men, all wearing black suits, walking behind him.
The men went over to an elevator, and when the elevator door opened, they all went in, and the door closed.
Gideon, seeing this, immediately stepped forward. Just before stepping into the elevator, he was intercepted by one of the men guiding the entrance.
"This specific section you are trying to get into is a VIP section; you can't get in without having an invitation to see the boss." One of the men bluntly said, his voice deep and horrifying, eyes widened and motionless like a lion ready to devour its prey.
Gideon steps backwards. If he wanted to get into the specific section they two men were preventing him from, then he needed a plan to distract them.
"Sorry, I didn't know that this place was a VIP section." Gideon gently walked away. The men stared at him with reddened eyes as he walked and blended into the crowds.
What Gideon had in mind was to use a spray he came with, if he could get away with it, he would spray it close to the men, and this would cause a sudden reaction that would distract them, giving him a way to get into the elevator.
The spray Gideon was going to use was concentrated and had undergone different breakdowns of chemical processes, which, if used on a mutant, would cause a sudden itching reaction on their skin, though it's temporary.
Gideon went to one of the ladies, seated on a sofa; in her hands she held a glass of alcohol. "Hey, I want you to get a job done for me. Can you?"
Gideon went directly to the point. The reason he had done so was because he knew the woman wouldn't hesitate if he offered her money to do what he wanted.
The woman swiftly lifted her head. "How much will you offer?"
She didn't even know what kind of job Gideon was requesting, and she had already agreed. Gideon thought as much.
Gideon pulled out the spray looking more like a perfume on a glass slightly transparent case from his coat and handed it over to the woman. He then pointed his fingers toward the elevator where the men stood. "I want you to get over there and spray those men with this perfume I've given to you."
The woman slightly raised a brow, then chuckled before letting out a smirk from her lips. "I understand what you are trying to do; you want to cause a fight in the club, right? Hehe, well, that would be fun."
