Lara sighed as Curtis fussed over her. "You really didn't have to do that though," she said to him as he sat at the foot of her bed.
Curtis raised an eyebrow as he stared at her. To him, Lara didn't seem to know the gravity of what Amanda did to her.
"She slapped you," he said very curtly.
Lara sighed again. "I don't know how many times you want me to repeat this, but I was the one who slapped her first. Twice, even," she insisted.
"Even if you had beaten her up, she had no right to touch you. My babies are growing in your belly, Lara. Even an ant has no right to crawl closer to where you are. Why are you not taking this seriously?" he quipped.
Lara's brows furrowed into a slight frown.
"I am not taking this seriously? For the love of God, I am not going to encounter a miscarriage just because of a slap. You are too extreme," she quipped back.
Curtis reeled away from her as if she just slapped him.
His eyes started to blaze with anger, and he stood up.
