Lara gasped at the sheer nerve of her mother in law. What the actual hell?
How dare this woman walk in and blatantly accuse her of cheating?
Enraged, she took a step closer, ready to give the woman a piece of her mind. Before she could do anything though, Curtis stepped in.
He grabbed his mother's arm and firmly turned her to face him. Then he said, "I warned you, mother. I told you to leave. But you insisted on staying. And now you have crossed a line."
His words were delivered so coldly that it sent a shiver down Lara's spine. Lisa paled at her son's defiant expression, and she took a step back from him.
"Never in my life have I ever imagined that my own son would choose another woman over me. But it is happening. Right before me. My life is over. I can't believe this," she said, shaking her head at Curtis.
Curtis, who was done with her bullshit, refused to be moved by her words.
"Leave," he said coldly.
