Lara resumed work the next day. She was pretty excited about going back to work, and Curtis was kind of happy to see how excited she was.
Her excitement was infectious, but he didn't show her how affected he was.
"One of my drivers will be responsible for driving you to work every day. This is not open for negotiation," he said to her in a curt voice when she was ready and good to go.
Lara rolled her eyes.
"You don't have to go all bossy on me. You've told me that like a million times. So yes, your driver will be responsible for taking me to work and bringing me back home. No negotiation there, alright?" she responded, her voice slightly teasing.
Curtis nodded. She looked beautiful, especially considering the fact that she was wearing one of the clothes she finally allowed him to get her.
She would blend right into the company, especially now that he was aware of how brilliant she was.
"You have everything you need?" he asked.
She nodded in the affirmative.
