Mike's eyes trailed up and down on Lara's body, and Lara barely managed to suppress the shiver of disgust that rolled through her at the look on his face.
Tolu smirked and stepped closer, a savage grin on her face.
"And what, may I ask, are you doing here, Lara?" Tolu asked. Lara folded her arms over her chest and held the gaze of her former best friend.
"I don't see how that is any of your business, Tolu. You really should learn how to stop poking your nose in other people's business," she snapped.
There was a warning bite in Lara's voice that didn't sit well with Tolu. And the other woman stepped closer menacingly.
"You've got a tongue on you now, yeah? I can see that from the way you are speaking to me like I am your mate. Have you forgotten your place?" Tolu spat with barely restrained anger.
Fear tried to rear its head inside Lara, but she stamped down that feeling. She was done with letting these people treat her like she was nothing but trash.
