Ruby's POV
His response was exactly what I expected it would be.
Thirty minutes passed before I reached my climax against that very windowsill.
My limbs trembled with the lingering waves of pleasure as he withdrew his fingers from me slowly. The necklace he had given me caught the light against my exposed skin, shimmering like ocean waves.
Standing proved impossible. He had to lift me into his arms and carry me to the bathroom. Needless to say, my dessert plans with Mrs. Maxwell got pushed to another day.
We shared the same bed again that evening. This arrangement was becoming our new normal.
Nestled against his chest as sleep took hold, I felt genuine fear about how dependent I was becoming on this closeness.
Whether my presence helped his insomnia remained unclear, but one thing was certain. Every time I slept beside him, I dreamed of that massive black wolf romping through the forest with my smaller wolf companion. Those dreams wrapped me in complete security.
