Chapter 34 - Unageing Youth

"Sit."

Unlike how he was a half hour before, BB was composed as he spoke with his apprentice. His long white hair was combed and tied back into a ponytail. For some reason, his hair had begun to turn black at the beginning of where it grew from his scalp.

"What's going on?"

"Well, we need Scott back if we want to continue this journey. So, we absolutely need to clear this up."

"One question I've had lately is, why do we need Alexander?"

"That doesn't matter right now. See, we need to fix this up."

"How do you plan on doing that? We don't have any backing; we have the world's strongest government after us at the moment and you killed us for what?"

BB had been far more emotional as of late. He had yelled and screamed and smiled far more than he did in his youth. Though, he never had been more emotionless than he was right now.

"I think my brother is sending me visions or perhaps a deity of some kind is wanting me to speak with my brother."

"You really are laying your family history on me."

"Yes, I am. Because in a way, I consider you a son of sorts. Have I been a fair parent?"

"Um..."

BB's face lost all its composure as he exhaled and began to relax.

"I don't need a response. Just tell me if anything is going wrong around here. As its captain, I have a duty to maintain it."

"Well, tell me, why do you think your brother is trying to speak with you?"

"See, these visions were odd, and the last one was my brother, Lighter, in a hospital bed. He was a bit older than I last remembered but he was still in his youth."

"Why don't we pay him a visit?"

"We shouldn't. I have to get that information out of Alexander first. Is the doctor done with him or do I have to wait further?"

It was a bit haunting, that memory of himself dying. Sugar wasn't used to this kind of action, yet he had enjoyed this time a lot. BB on the other hand, just wanted to settle down and die in peace surrounded by friends. Sugar had three goals: restore Scott, figure out what was happening to Lighter, and find out why BB had kept them on that ship. When he went, it was simple, he met a few people he loved and he met a few people he didn't.

"Dr. John should be through with him by now, but I suggest you give him some time."

"Why?"

"He's just had surgery done and is about to be interrogated."

"Seems you do have a point. But the point of my interrogations is that we don't let them heal."

"BB, please be honest with me. What do you plan on doing with him once you're done?"

"Simple, I plan on throwing him overboard and letting him swim."

"Really?"

"Of course not. We're sending him to Backtown."

Sugar felt off with the statement from his mentor. They were going to send a dictator to the last bastion of mankind. BB was most likely holding a grudge to the lands he built but also, it wouldn't be the first time that BB had sent a man who abused his power to the lands beyond man's failure.
