Chapter 35 - Mastheading

After a small stare down between the two, they had decided on mutual backdown. Lia wasn't that intimidating or that dangerous compared to Scott, but she had an iron will that with enough effort, could've gotten her far enough in the fight to kill Scott for a good long while.

"Both of you, calm down."

BB had come waltzing out of his quarters before he had interrupted the soon to be fight.

"Come on, wrinkles. Just watch us have a few rounds."

"Yeah, captain. Just sit back and watch the show."

The hounds, with their muscular black forms and beady red eyes came closer before Scott reached into his pocket. Inside was a M1911. It was fully loaded and recently cleaned.

"I won't allow such a thing. See, I owe her ancestor some favors, and he owes me a night out at poker."

With the power of his mind, BB slowly moved the two apart. Scott had some parts of his psychic abilities left as he moved him towards the girl and her hounds.

"BB? What is going on here?"

Dr. John had come wandering in. He had some glasses in one hand of which were all for him and in the other hand was his carton of cheap cigarettes that he bought whilst the Tempest Tide was sinking.

"It seems that we need to do some discipline around here."

"Like what, wrinkles?"

"Since we're on a ship from the nineteenth century, I guess we should treat you people like a bunch of sailors from those times."

"And that is?"

"Mastheading, the two of you'll go to the top of the mast for the next two days. No food, no water, and probably no sleep. Listen, this will hurt you more than it'll hurt me."

Lia's face changed so that way it would show how obviously she was shocked at the statement.

"Isn't the phrase-"

"I know what the phrase is and both of you're going up at dawn."

Like clockwork, Alexander was out of his chains and into Scott's bed. Scott and Lia were tied together and put in the crow's nest.

"I hate you."

"For the love of Mistress, I will break your neck if you interrupt my reading one more time."

Thanks to her horrible vision, she had literally strapped a pair of magnifying glasses to face as she read a book BB had written. It was about his old friend, A. Compared to the other three hundred books by BB, it was okay, but it was his best memoir by far as BB had written around forty different drafts that had been almost perfect recollections of what had actually happened.

"Fine."

Down below, there was Dr. John and Sugar getting a tan on the nice Mediterranean weather before them.

"Shouldn't we check on those two meatheads up there?"

"Nah."

The two of them had gotten ice cream and sunglasses to help themselves get relaxed. Meanwhile below, BB was interrogating his new best friend to figure out the connection to his brother.

"Do you know a man by the name of Lighter?"

"Leave me alone!"

The king's muscles still hurt as he was held down in his new bed. BB was beginning the interrogation small. The second he heard a lie, he would have to do some things he wasn't proud of.

"I'm not going to leave you alone. See, you're not going to be alone for as long as it takes. The second something that matters comes from those lips, I'll be there to listen and record."

"I read a poem."

BB was no stranger to poetry. He had regularly sent in poems to every media source he could find in the times before he went on his conquests through time and space.

"Where did you read this poem?"

"The night before I died, it came in a flash of light and had left a stone tablet in a language unknown to me."

"And you didn't think to tell anyone about this?"

"It wasn't really good conversation."

"Of course it wasn't!"

After some time, BB had the coordinates of the place, and he was dead set on going there sometime in the next few days. But he needed to restore Scott, or he would be just like that black and white creatures.
