Scott and BB had a strange but not strained relationship unlike the one both held with their fathers. BB would help Scott and make a small list of things they needed to do in order to help themselves out whilst also keeping a tally of all of the favors Scott owed him.
"What're you reading, boss?"
"Nothing much. I'm looking into hypnotherapy."
"Hypnotherapy? I thought that was a myth."
A small smirk crossed the face of the cult leader.
"Maybe because that was told to be a hoax by me because I didn't want anyone else using it against me."
Sugar had spent the last few days getting his brain melted with knowledge of what was happening around him. BB is using propaganda. How can I look up to him yet he does horrible things? I guess it's true what they say, never being your heroes.
"Well, that didn't work, didn't it?"
"I don't care about my titles if that's what you're referring to."
"You did care. You cared enough to drag us across time itself to help you get them back."
"It wasn't for the titles. With some time and effort, I could save my family."
Sugar was finished with the antics he had to endure in this place close to hell.
"Then why don't you try and save the one you have right here."
A, Lighter, and Dials. They mattered to him the most. He spent days at a time thinking of them and yet he almost always felt sad after all was said and done. The group had made him feel the total opposite to his 'family'. He had a feeling of belonging and Scott never hit him unless he deserved it. He missed his old crew. They were the best in their business and had almost felt more like family to him than anyone he ever knew. Maybe when all was said and done, he might have planned on retiring to a simple life at the end of time with his friends, no, his family.
"Good idea. We should get ice cream."
"Where? We're at sea in a time when it doesn't exist."
"Right, well, we need to stop by a place real quick."
"And that is?"
"Babylon."
"You're kidding."
BB stood up straight, he was stone faced and hadn't let out a single bit of emotion but inside he was a total wreck. He was just good at covering up crime scenes.
"Not at all, see, Alexander told me he read a poem in what I assumed was English shortly before his death. Because he was in Babylon at the time of his death and that poem is the next step in our investigation."
"Cool. Are we going to let Scott and Lia down or are we just going to let them stay up there whilst we're on land?"
"Nope, we're going to be leaving them here. If this ship isn't clean by the end of the day, they'll be back up there for another three days."
"Really?"
"Of course."
"Wow."
Lia is going to kill me.
"No she won't."
"What?"
Sugar was confused. Did he just read my mind? Is that a detective thing or a psychic thing?
"I dabble in both."
"You need to teach me those tricks sometime."
"About that, I won't."
"Come on, I need to learn a thing or two about a thing or two."
"Nope."
BB left the quarters and began to move the ship towards Babylon. They would have far too much work ahead of them tomorrow. BB was a strong psychic, but could he save the world and his world? That's what a dilemma is for.
