Evan…Tuesday…
I stared out my window without blinking for over an hour now.
Why?
I am waiting for the boy that caught my heart to pass by.
Jinx of course.
I have known Jinx, Sheridan, Chartreuse and Sandra since Elementary school. We schooled at the same elementary school at Fullscreen Town. We also attended the same Middle school and the same high school and it was during middle school that I realized that I had no interest in women. Jinx was my first and only attraction ever since but it turns out he is straight.
Sheridan is cool about my sexual preference and always tried to get me together with Jinx she became my only female best friend. I disliked Chartreuse and I was more than glad to know that she disliked me to. Not that I care anyway. My only aim was to win Jinx over and I have been doing that for more that six years now.
My wait paid off when I saw him walk by and I immediately stepped out of my room with my school bag and walked up to him in haste. He spared me a glance but looked away with a groan he didn't try to hide. I hung my arm on his shoulder, pulling him closer. I was stronger and taller than he was and I could dominate his being if I wanted but I couldn't do that. I loved him more than myself.
"Good morning, my dearest Jinx." I smiled and he sighed.
"I am not interested in you Evan. I have told you more than hundred times already."
"Yeah that was true but the other truth is that I don't listen." His lips twitched and he pushed my hand away, walking faster after that.
I didn't chase after him. This has always being the life. Jinx was an easy going person and we used to be friends but when he realized I didn't like him as a friend, he started avoiding me and giving me the cold shoulder. I wasn't the type to give up anyway and it was a good thing that we had Economics that morning so I would get to talk to him later in the classroom.
I didn't have much friends besides Charles and so I waited for him before heading to the main building. Jinx was at his locker discussing with Sheridan and Chartreuse. Sheridan took notice of me and waved.
"Hey, Evan." I walked up to them, winking at Evan and ignoring Chartreuse. I shook hands with Sheridan. The girl was like a tomboy.
"Good morning, Sherry."
"I hope you watched over our Jinx. He could be a baby sometimes." Sheridan winked back at me.
I spared Jinx a glance and he was glaring daggers at the oblivious Sheridan. The bell went off and Charles began to talk.
"I have Maths this morning, Evan. Catch you later." He tapped my back and walked away.
"We have the same class this morning, Jinx." I told him and he let out a groan before storming away. I made an attempt to follow him but the Ganeth pulled me back.
You know who that is.
I flinched, not in fear nor disgust but due to a strange feeling that surged through me. She let go of me also, glaring at her hand in surprise.
That was wierd.
"I better get going. Don't be late for class, Chart." Sheridan said and walked away.
"What is it?" I spoke first, my cool aura fading away to nothingness.
"I had a discussion with Mr. Sean yesterday. He told me something about you I didn't and don't want to believe and from my research, it has something to do with Logan Howard." She replied.
I raised a brow and scoffed; "That is an old history, Chartreuse. Now I have a class to attend." I walked away swiftly and ignored her continuous calls.
I wasn't in the mood to play flirty anymore. I just listened to the teacher numbly amd hoped for today to end quickly.
It ended slowly and I had received a message from Mr. Sean to be at the field by five prompt. I guess it was for the training. Now I regret ever winning but I just can't hold myself. I am way stronger than the other students without even trying.
I had my bath and changed to suitable clothes for the event. Other students were at the field and they were different species. I recognized some and Chartreuse was also waiting there.
My freaking teammate.
Mr. Sean came to the field, feeling…different. His ancient demon aura was oozing and if one wasn't strong enough, they would be pushed down by it.
"Listen up everyone. We are facing against three schools. The hunt is gonna be a tough one so we decided to hold our own hunt right here in the forest surrounding this school focusing on speed and strength. Those who are able to cross to the finish line will be moved to the next level. Remember, if you lose control, there are werewolves and some vampires standing by. The creatures you will face are not real so feel free to kill them. Alright, at the count of three, you all run into the forest and face your obstacles on your own." Mr. Sean said "One, two, three…"
The sand went up in the air as different creatures shifted, teleported and ran towards the forest. I ran into the forest, jumping on trees and landing steadily but not stopping for a second.
Wondering what I am?
I am a demon but I don't know the type or kind of demon I am but I know that I am stronger than I expect. I usually have to hide some of my physical traits and most of the teachers know. That is why I don't find it surprising that Mr. Sean warned Chartreuse about me.
It is all because of an incident that happened during Middle school.
I landed on my feet and looked around after sensing a barrier which I couldn't see. I was the only one who came across it.
"Trying to find a way out?" I turned back to see a young boy who was slightly shorter than I was.
'Just an illusion, eh?' I thought.
"Oh…I am definitely not an illusion. I am real." He smiled and following these words were vines ripping from his back and circling and swirling around his body.
An unintentional gasp escaped my mouth.
"You noticed, right? That I am a luran just like you."
An emotion surged through me. Illusions were just like this so I had to get rid of it.
But as I lunged at it, it kicked me in the part where my diaphragm stayed and I fell back, feeling a strange feeling rip out from my back.
Vines…
