Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten

Chartreuse…Monday…

"What do you mean?" Mr. Daryn asked and Daphne made a 'duh' face.

"Even you too?" She sighed and looked at me "You said you got flashes when you saw Beverly and a poster of Sandra. Beverly is a death soul student we are suspicious of. She doesn't have any records about her birth or parents or how she became of ghost if it is by birth or death. Nothing. Now, a ghostly creature used 'the trick'. She could be an ancient ghost with an intention. Sandra could have also being her cooling agent for her burning living insence. Sandra isn't missing, people, she is dead. Murdered without trace." Daphne said and slowly but painfully, the memories came crawling back.

"This way, I can finally bring back my beloved. It was worth the wait." I found myself saying the last words I heard from Beverly.

"Huh?" Daphne looked at me.

"Those were the last words I heard from Beverly before I lost consciousness."

"Now I understand why you are like this." Mr. Sean paused "Not just the hondux spirit participated in your sudden metamorphosis but so did the soul of Sandra. The voice you heard with a murder intent to Beverly was Sandra and her anger caused your transformation."

I nodded. Now everything was starting to make sense.

"I don't think you should participate in that inter-school hunt, Chartreuse. Beverly might attack you again." Mr. Daryn suggested.

"Aren't you guys gonna capture her or something?" I frowned. I really wanted to participate in the school hunt.

"Even if. She is a ghostly creature which means she has her ears on the ground. She might know this would happen and would plan before hand. We have to make sure you don't wither away because that is just equivalent to death. So you have to stay in your room that night and other nights that we are not around you." Daphne said.

"So I can't even watch?" My eyes widened.

"I am sorry but…"

"I understand." I said but deep within, I had other intentions. At least, I wanted to see what would happen.

Just why did Beverly chose me? She just ruined my life!!!

I was finally allowed to go back to my room when classes were over. Students looked at me with surprise in the eyes and I wouldn't blame them. I was also surprised when I saw myself. I almost looked like a starved vampiric creature.

I got into my room and locked the door. I had to freshen up and go borrow notes from Jinx. We could then plan on Sheridan's Birthday. I also wanted to know if tomorrow night would be a night of the full moon.

I quickly freshed up and walked out of my room and headed to the boys compartment. I was allowed since some persons knew Jinx was a friend of mine.

I knocked on his door for a while and when he opened up, I actually realized that I woke him up from a nap.

"Sorry…."

"Chartreuse?" He blinked multiple times and held my hands "What happened? You look different now. Did you perform a surgery?"

"Calm down, Jinx. Nothing changed. I still look the same." I said.

He scanned with his eyes one more time; "I doubt that. You were never as tall as this." He squinted. I was always at his diaphragm level but now I am almost his height.

"Forget about me. Tomorrow is Sheridan's day. We have to plan something out for her."

"I know, I know." He pulled me into his room and closed the door.

"Aren't you worried about what people are gonna say when they find out I am in your room?" I asked, sitting on his bed.

"First things first, we are friends. Second, people think I am gay when I am not. Lastly, I have got a clear conscience."

I giggled at his last reason. This boy was badass despite his innocent appearance. His kind was rare and they could cause chaos if they wanted to.

"So what are we planning on. Surprise party?" I asked.

"Nah. I was thinking of that too but it sounds cliche."

"What then do you have in mind?"

"We could host a small party at the underground spot." He lit up but I raised a brow. He frowned "What? Is there a problem?"

"Do you know who owns that place?" I folded my arms.

"Who? Everyone goes there…"

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Evan owns the place and only his friends can go there. You wanting to host a party there would need Evan's permission and if I remember clearly, you don't like the guy and neither do I."

"Ooh…but Sheridan and Evan are very close. He would at least agree to host a party for her sake."

"That is if he hasn't laid out conditions for us to follow by then." I said, playing with my hair.

Jinx sat down; "We should give it a shot."

"You should ask him. Myself and Evan and incompatible."

"Then are you gonna make arrangements for props and refreshments?"

"Sure. If Evan agrees which I know he would, invite some persons. And make sure they don't spit out anything that would give Sherry a hint of the party we want to hold for her." I instructed and Jinx nodded.

"Aye, aye Captain Chartreuse." He mocked.

I stood up; "I will be off now."

Beverly appeared in a dark place and pushed open the door before her. The room it led to was large with just a long table with chairs, paintings, candles and some other things to gave it a gothic vibe.

Some persons were seated at the table wearing black cloaks with the sign of the pentagram on it. It was colored purple.

"Greetings, members of the Soul Oracle." Beverly bowed despite the fact that she hated doing so.

"Why are you here?" Lucifer asked, leaning lazily on his chair.

"I delayed in telling you about the lost child. Great Vandidar and terrible Hades, I have found your son who goes by the name Evan Ville. I saw when he wielded the dark energy of his father some days ago coupled with his mother's luran genes. He is a true definition of evil without knowing it." Beverly said, still bowing.

Vandidar became excited immediately. She found it hard to believe though; "My child is alive. I thought Logan would have killed him."

"Logan put his dark magic in the body of your son, Great Vandidar. Your son hasn't known much about his origin yet."

"Keep an eye on him. When we are ready, we shall come for him. You can leave." Hades said, looking quite uninterested.

Beverly was a bit surprised that she was sent away quickly without any good result. She was expecting them to be more eager but they all looked nonchalant except Vandidar. Nevertheless, she still left.

"Why did you send her away? We don't know where our son is?" Vandidar fumed.

Hades sighed; "Calm down. I could sense she was hiding something."

Vandidar calmed down. She didn't sense anything but she was too caught up to have noticed.

"So what do we do?"

"While Beverly watches over 'our son', we keep our eyes on her. Once we see what we should see, we take action as the spirit leads." Lucifer said.
