Chapter 12 - Chapter Twelve

Chartreuse…Tuesday…

It was time!!!

I pulled Sheridan to her room once classes were over. She wasn't the very girly type but I was gonna let her slip away this time without applying some make-up to suit her new dress.

"Where are you taking me to? Are we having a party?" She asked but I didn't reply. She would just see it herself.

I did a complete makeover for Sheridan. I prepared for her a scented bath and let her get a body massage from me. After that, I did her hair and touched her face with makeup. She complained but I ignored all of it and finished up.

"Is this really me?" She gasped when she saw her new look in he mirror. Sheridan was a true beauty.

"Yeah it's you. Now get up so you will wear your new dress." I rolled my eyes on her. She smiled and stood up to get dressed.

The black gown suited her tanned skin perfectly and she looked like a demon seductress in her dress and makeup. She then paired up the black dress with the black shoes Evan got for her.

I squealed when I noticed how my hard work came out great. I guess all those forced manicure and pedicure lessons I got from my older sister weren't a waste.

"You look like a goddess, Sherry." She laughed when she heard that.

"So where are we heading to?"

"Aah, Jinx will be here any minute to pick you up. I have to change. My clothes are sticking to my body now." I said.

She nodded; "Alright, I will wait here." She sat on her bed and gestured to the door.

I left her room immediately and headed to mine. I had a quick bath and then changed to something that suited a party. I wasn't a dress freak so didn't have many of those in my wardrobe.

When I came out of my room, the sky was dark already. There was no sign of the moon and I sighed. Was Sheridan really going to live on without a mate to call her own? That means the love life of a black blood is really painfully.

I sighed and walked towards the back of the Cafeteria building. The underground spot was just a portal behind the Cafeteria. No one could locate it if Evan didn't leave it open.

The portal wasn't opening and I believed the idiot had closed it the moment he sensed it was me.

Did that gay idiot forget I helped him this afternoon?

I wish I could yell out his name now but we couldn't attract the school authority. I sighed and began thinking of how to get in.

Jinx should be there, right? I could just call him and tell him about my predicament. I searched my pocket for my phone but couldn't find it. I grunted.

Why did I have to forget that gadget in my room?

I began my trek back to my room. I just wonder if that idiot knew I would forget my phone.

I got back to my room and took the phone which laid on my bed peacefully. I began my trek back to the Cafeteria while dialing Jinx number.

"You look healthy, Chartreuse." I raised my head up when I heard the familiar voice. It was no other than the evil death soul.

"Beverly." I called the name like it was poison on my tongue. Of course it was.

The ghostly creature ran away the moment Mr. Sean tried to find her. She left the school without trace.

"Hello, Chartreuse. Where are you?" I heard Jinx voice from my phone and I placed the gadget close to my ear while still eyeing Beverly.

"Evan locked me out." I said, trying my utmost best not to yell.

I heard Jinx sigh and I can bet on one million that he his pinching the bridge of his nose.

"I will go and talk to him. Just wait by the portal."

"Make it snappy." I disconnected the call and turned my attention to Beverly "I don't know what you have in mind but you better stay away from me. I will crush you if I ever see you again."

She smiled; "You should count yourself lucky today is not the day. Watch where you're going, Chartreuse." She chuckled and disappeared into thin air.

Watch where I am going, huh?

I scoffed and walked towards the cafeteria once more. This time, the portal opened. The music was a bit loud and there was a crowd. I think Jinx invited more people than I would have.

"Where were you Chart?" Sheridan asked when she saw me.

"Sorry, Evan locked me out. I told Jinx to talk to him though. Where is Jinx?"

"No wonder." Sheridan said and I noticed her smile was twitching.

"Are you alright? Did anything happen?"

"Nothing except Evan told Jinx to stay by his side till the end of the party." She said but without a smile.

"Aren't you supposed to be happy? You have always vouched for Jinx an Evan."

"I know but…I felt kinda jealous when Evan said that."

My eyes widened. Sheridan and Jinx has always seemed like a nice ship to me but they always denied it.

"What is this I am seeing now? Is it love?" I teased and that made Sheridan frown.

"It can't be. We are friends. Friends, yes we are friends." She said more to herself "I should be keeping a lookout for my mate just in case the full moon suddenly pops out." She smiled but it definitely twitched, trying to stay stable on her lips. Sheridan was definitely trying to encourage herself.

"You don't need to force the emotions, Sherry." I told her. The MC announced the cutting of the cake, requesting for the presence of the birthday girl.

I looked at Sheridan; "Alright, it's time for you to make a wish." I told her and pulled her to the center where her cake was.

We all spelt her name for the cutting of her cake and told her to make a wish. She said what no one would hear and blew her candles. We clapped and cheered for her then the party continued with some games I would call silly.

Sheridan called me over to play truth and dare with a small group she had formed. The girl had ruined the hair do I took my time to perfect. She probably drank too much for her brain.

"I don't play such games…"

"Not today, Chartreuse. You just attended a party for the first time in your boring life. Why not losen up a bit and regret tomorrow?" She said drunkenly and I sighed.

"No…"

"Chartreuse." She said with warning in her tone and I finally gave in.

She pulled me to sit beside someone and that someone was Evan.

Holy Blood from Jerusalem!!!

Why did the universe like myself and Evan as a pair? This semester seems good to me…a bit. Last semester, myself and Evan were made to do almost everything TOGETHER!!!!

Evan looked at me for a very long time and that made me look at him properly.

"You have something to say?"

"You look delicious." He smirked, his eyes turning red.

My eyes widened and my cheeks burned to ashes.

Is this an imposter or did someone hypnotize Evan?

Wasn't this the guy who locked me out?

Did hell suddenly freeze over?
