The rise of the God of Death
Chapter 12: Deeper in the Cave
Daimon carefully stepped through the secret passage, his senses sharp and alert. Ahead, two figures stood guard — warriors at the peak of their rank, their expressions grim as they watched over a small cage. Inside was the missing second commander, Nil, weak and barely conscious. The sight stirred something inside Daimon — a mix of anger and determination.
Moving silently, Daimon crept closer but suddenly felt a surge of hostile presences approaching fast. Without hesitation, he quickened his pace, entering a massive buried arena deep within the cave. Around the arena, soldiers of various ranks stood in formation, encircling the space. At their center was the notorious Hero of the North, exuding authority and menace.
The two warrior guards opened the cage, freeing Nil. Though battered and pale, Nil's eyes showed a flicker of defiance. The Hero sneered, "You may be stronger, Nil, but I am smarter."
Without warning, the Hero lunged forward, delivering powerful blows that sent Nil crashing against the arena wall. Drawing his sword with a cold smile, he prepared to finish the weakened commander. Nil closed his eyes, seemingly accepting death.
Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted. A cold shiver ran through every person in the arena. The Hero's confident smirk faltered as a dark figure emerged — Daimon, cloaked in black, grasping the Hero's sword with bare hands.
Daimon's voice was low, cold, and filled with disdain. "Shouldn't a hero use his sword to protect his people... instead of torturing them?" With a sharp snap, he shattered the sword effortlessly.
The Hero's eyes widened in shock. "Who… are you?" he demanded.
Daimon raised his hand, summoning an impenetrable barrier that sealed off the arena. His aura flared intensely, dark and overwhelming. "No one leaves this place alive," he declared, his tone deadly serious.
The battle was about to begin — and this time, Daimon was not holding back.
