The rise of the God of Death
Chapter 16: The First Seal
After Daimon accepted the quest, he began his journey to the distant mountain. Though the path would take an ordinary person five hours on foot, Daimon was no ordinary being. He sprinted with incredible speed, his presence so subtle that no one nearby noticed him passing by. He condensed the journey from five hours down to just five minutes.
Upon arrival, Daimon muttered to himself, "The mountain is covered by my aura." Standing on a nearby peak, he began performing intricate hand gestures, invoking a secret art known to only five beings in existence. Slowly, he drew the lingering aura from the seal toward himself.
As he absorbed the final traces, a sudden vision overwhelmed him. He found himself in the Supreme Chamber, where the Supreme Being stood before the five seals, the first seal opened. The Supreme Being laughed and said, "The true hero has arrived." The Supreme Being concealed the original first seal and crafted an exact replica of it in its closed form.
Another vision followed, showing his true enemy, Izanami, the God of Life, arriving at the chamber to inspect the seals. Unaware that the first seal was a fake, Izanami examined them carefully. As he left, he warned the Supreme Being, "You better not be hiding anything."
The Supreme Being coldly replied, "Know your place. I am your god and the king of this world."
Izanami then pulled an object from his transferral ring—a core—and gripped it tightly. The Supreme Being suddenly flinched in pain.
The vision snapped back to Daimon, who was sweating on the ground, his voice cold, "You dare hold the Supreme Core… This bastard wants to be the third Supreme Being." A small smirk formed on his lips as he chuckled softly, "I better hurry and focus more on the seals."
Daimon absorbed all the strength from the first seal, his power surging as he reached the next rank — Baron.
