Chapter 22 Skill Test
Seria looked at the nurse, who looked relieved, as if she had overcome a crisis. The nurse tried to thank her several times. Serin stood there, unsure of what to do. [My daughter is so smart.] "Then let's go. I'll hurry and tell Dad to bring security here."
Seria sat watching the nurse, not rushing to help her stand up, letting the nurse rest without moving. Seria asked, seeing an opportunity to make sure everything was okay. "Then, sister, why does that man hold a grudge against you?" the nurse replied with a scornful tone.
Having a breath that sounded exhausted, she said, "That man is angry at me for not restoring his finger to normal. So, he plans to kill me to vent his anger."
Seria analyzed with interest. [Is it a grudge against the finger? Or is it something like this?] "Did that homeless man become angry because my sister refused?" "
"That's right, that's why he's holding me like that." "Did the man tell you why his finger was severed? If he had time, he'd run here for treatment. Could it be that the man had recently had his finger amputated and brought it back with him?"
The nurse shook her head in confusion. "I don't know, but the truth is, the man's severed finger looks like something bit him." Seria nodded.
"I understand. Next time, just be more careful. If possible, I'll have to contact the neighbors immediately. Patients can't choose when an accident happens, so prepare a backup plan or have those who need treatment administer anesthesia to protect my sister." The nurse nodded weakly.
[Does this kid dare to teach an adult like me?] Seria watched the nurse with amusement and interest. [Could it be that my brother is planning something to cause the old man's finger to be severed? What kind of plans did my brother have? It sounds interesting, so I'll investigate tomorrow.] Seria decided to investigate the cause of the old man Perron's missing finger.
After a while, the nurse who had gotten up began checking Seraph's condition. Serin stood guard, watching him intently. "How is he?"
"Everything is normal. Nothing unusual." Seraph's expression turned cold and he looked at Seria, who was looking at himself suspiciously, as if something was wrong. Seraph ignored Seria. After a while, the village guard at Gollen arrived. The four of them answered their questions and were able to return home.
Serin returned home, opened the door, and walked in, carrying Seraph. The footsteps weren't loud, as Seraph was completely unharmed. Seraph walked with calm steps. Serin carried Seraph to his room.
Seraph sat upstairs, looking around his room. The room was empty, with nothing but a white bed, which he could sleep in comfortably. Serin stood looking at her son with a worried expression.
"Even though they said he was fine, Tomorrow, I won't let you go anywhere alone. I'll have Seria follow you, and you won't be far from that dead man. Do you understand? "
Seraph nodded with a cold expression, his golden eyes still fixed on Serin's face. "Yes." [Initially, he didn't know what to do.] Seraph tucked himself into bed with a calm expression, his mother joining him, and Seria following him to sleep with her.
Morning came, the sun shone brightly. The light from the sun still brightened the day. The scent of nature roused everyone to get up and get to work. Seraph's eyes were beginning to open at the edge of his bed Seraph sat up, staring at his sister's face, who seemed to be sleeping with no sign of waking up. Seraph walked past Seria, preparing to leave for the Seren Tenshin Academy entrance exam. He walked down the steps, basking in the chilly morning air. The brown wooden stairs were cold as if they were indirectly frozen. The sunlight couldn't dampen the natural chill. He descended and saw Serin preparing breakfast. Serin saw Seraph walking down.
"Seraph, go wake Seriya. We have to go again." Seraph nodded and walked up again.
Time passed, and the two children were standing in front of the grassy front yard, a horse-drawn carriage waiting to greet them. Serin looked at Seraph with concern.
"I really want you to stay here, but I can't. Don't force yourself too much. Mother can support you, but don't do anything that would prevent you from returning here. Don't even think about interfering with yesterday's near-miss. Seria, keep an eye on your brother. Don't leave him too far, or else... "Mother will definitely punish you." Seria reached out and grabbed Seraph's arm.
"Of course I won't let go of that hand." Seria displayed a determined expression, unwilling to let go of Seraph.
The two children began to walk to the carriage, Seraph watching them. Time began to pass, and they arrived at their destination. Seraph descended, holding Seria's hand, unwilling to let go. They walked into Seren Tenshin Academy, where a large group of students who had passed the exam were waiting in line. An elderly woman, the proctor, checked the time and saw that it was time for the third round of exams.
"Now, we're going to test your first skill to see which class you'll be in. You're the first to enter." The first to enter was Zenon, who walked in and looked towards the door. All the children paid close attention to Zenon, as he was one of the three students who had shown the ability that earned him recognition as a genius.
The children were talking. "Look, out of the three, that genius is the first to go." I thought this kid would definitely be in the special class. Seeing him made me envious. Such talent is so amazing."
"Yes, yes. Just the energy test is already shocking, but to even get a huge sword, seeing it makes me lose all desire to train." "That's right, someone with such talent is taking advantage of others." A voice filled with envy.
Xenon heard but didn't seem to care at all. He walked into the room. Inside, it was a white space like a skill testing area. The floor was filled with squares, and a soft blue light enveloped the area. A blue rock was stuck in front of Xenon, as large as three trees combined. The old woman in charge looked at the little girl in blue standing in the center of the field.
Xenon's face showed the calmness of a still lightning bolt, indicating the danger of this still lightning. Xenon stood and stared at the invigilator. "Your test is to destroy the blue rock in front of you. Attack with all your might. Do whatever you can. The magic items can be combined.
Zenon summons a magical weapon. Since Zenon's sword is twice his own size, he clenches it with both hands. Zenon begins using his second skill, "Lightning Sword."
