Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Restaurant

Chapter 24: Restaurant

The invigilator showed a look of disbelief as he saw the energy stone destroyed, with Seraph leaving the room. It was a slight blow, and it was a small blow.

[That kid is clearly a monster. Two geniuses used powerful attacks, but this kid destroyed it with a light punch? How is that possible!?]

The invigilator jumped to the shattered energy stone. The invigilator looked at the scene with a look of disbelief. The invigilator picked up the energy stone and examined it. "That's terrifying! The energy stone really did shatter. If it's smooth like that, those two kids are geniuses. That's a monster." The door creaked open, and the next kid walked in.

The invigilator jumped back to his spot. [This year, there's at least four chances of getting a special class.] Time began to pass.

The third round of room selection ended. The old woman invigilator began handing out papers to all the students, explaining the items they needed to buy and the room selection process. Each student took the papers and happily began walking home. With only three kids left: Seraph, Seria, and Zenon, the invigilator looked at them sadly.

[Sigh... Another genius doesn't seem to be coming today. Hopefully, he'll come tomorrow.] The invigilator expressed his sadness at Barrier's absence. "Well, you three. Congratulations. You've been accepted into the special class, also known as Class S. You'll receive support from Seren Tenshin High School." The invigilator smiled at the three.

Zenon still had a blank expression, like a puppet, showing no emotion. Seria was jumping up and down with joy. "Yay... This is it! I'm a real genius! Our brothers are in the same class again." Seria shook Seraph's arm happily.

I thought Seraph's arm was a twig waving around. Seraph looked at the invigilator coldly. [What's going on? I remember just punching myself, thinking I'd be in a very low class, but I got through. This old woman... Are your eyesight worse?] The three of them were told by the proctor to go back.

Seria was walking with Zenon, staring at Zenon's face. [She's very pretty. No, I'm prettier. We're in the same class anyway, so let's greet each other first.]

Seria jumped up and stood in front of Zenon. "Hey, since we have the chance to be in the same class anyway, would you like to be friends?" Seria held out her hand for a handshake. Zenon looked at Seria's hand, completely ignoring the surroundings. Zenon's gaze showed a lack of interest in the surroundings, as if he had finished his duty and was going home. Seria turned to look at Zenon's back.

"What's going on? They're trying to be friendly." Seria turned to look at Seraph. "So, big brother, you have somewhere you want to go, right? I'll follow my brother." Seraph walked past Seria without a care. [What's this kid talking about? Do you know where I'm going? The most curious thing is, what does that old woman see in me?]

Seraph asked, "Where do you want to go?" [I'll follow this kid. Maybe he'll go for a walk or something. It's another way of thanking her for saving my life yesterday. If Seria hadn't gotten up and hit that fake doctor with a chair, I'd probably have gotten a scar.]

Seraph decided to follow Seria everywhere. Seria smiled happily. "Seriously? Sure, sure. I'll take the coffin myself. My brother doesn't need to get involved." [I got a chance to show off my skills at tracing the origins of Dr. Perron's finger. I didn't expect my brother to let me take the coffin myself like this.]

Seraph walked happily, holding Seraph's hand. Seraph looked at the little girl. [Why are you so excited? Isn't it normal for us to take walks together often? You seem especially happy today. Maybe he's worried about me. Maybe they'll take you to a restaurant they think is delicious.]

Seria walked happily and began to analyze. [According to Perron's testimony, something bit his finger. I think it's possible it was a dog? But that's weird, isn't it? Let's go check it out. Maybe there's a clue.]

Time passed. The two arrived at a homeless area. Seria, holding Seraph's hand, looked left and right intently. [They had to find someone who was likely a dog owner or had bite marks from something. If Perron had been bitten, the possibility of others being bitten was high.]

The surrounding area was filled with people with torn clothes and dirty bodies. The ground they walked on was filthy like the grass of a garbage dump. Many eyes were focused on the two children. It's normal for a filthy place and the homeless, but when a child with nice clothes walked in, anyone would be suspicious. Seraph walked around and looked left and right.

[Is this area interesting? Is Seria interested in this restaurant? Seeing him looking left and right like this, he must be very interested in this area. It's like a rag wrapped in gold. But I can't believe Seria would like this place. This area is dangerous. But it's probably okay, this kid is a top-tier martial artist.]

The two were walking together. There was a large man with dirty clothes and a skinny body. He had a smiling face and very long hair "Hello, is there anything wrong with this place? We can help you." The homeless man's name was Jinte. Seria smiled. "Excuse me, have there been any incidents of people losing fingers or anything similar around here? Is this for the value of the information?"

Seria handed Jinte a red gold coin. Jinte hurriedly took it and began to think. "Um, yes, there is. Not long ago, an old man had his finger cut off by something. Follow me. Would you like to see that place?" Seria nodded. "Of course, I'll pay you extra."

Jinte led the way. Seria led Seraph's hand, walking with interest. [This man seems suspicious. He might have been involved in this, but that would be too easy. My brother wouldn't think of something so simple as finding something that caused the old man's finger to be cut off. There must be something big about him. Maybe this man is the target? The possibility is high. Let this man guide you to a place. I can't think of anything. This man is definitely leading us to someplace. My brother intends to destroy this man's gang. This is for sure. Everything is in place. It's unbelievable that in just a short while, he's able to know the location of this man's organization, along with the fact that we're both martial artists. My brother must have known I was a second-rank martial artist by seeing me in the special room. We, two second-rank martial artists, will make a name for ourselves by destroying this man's group? Does that mean my brother now wants fame?] While Seria was thinking so far ahead, she thought...

[Seriously, Seria, are you really going to follow me? The restaurants around here don't seem to have any delicious food. There's trash all over the streets. And what we just talked about was a secret code. Let's ask again to be sure.]

"Seria, are you on the right track? Is there really a restaurant around here that you're interested in?" Seria was stunned. [My brother was starting to distrust me. Don't look down on me! I'll show you my skills. You have to show your determination and show that you can handle it. Maybe my brother wants me to gain fighting experience because he saw what I did yesterday wasn't good enough. And what about the restaurant? Is it a reward for my success? Is he going to take me out for a meal and let me choose the restaurant? There must be some kind of hint. No, the way we're going is the restaurant. Is my brother telling me to go in secret again?] Seria turned to Seraph with a frown on her face.

"Oh, I told you not to interfere, huh?" Seraph nodded, looking confident that Seria was on the right path. [The right path, huh?]
