Alina's pov
The sound of things falling to the ground made me flinch, at least there wasn't glass in there. I turned to stare at Charmaine who arrived just in time to pull me away.
"Listen to you? You're practically insane, not wanting to treat your wounds because protecting me comes first. You'd better listen to me or I'm doing whatever I want." My voice was firm, and I made it sound a bit cold.
"I just don't want you getting hurt." I heard Charmaine whisper. My eyes widened as I stared up at her. Her purple eyes had softened but still held a cloud of coldness over them.
"But you're hurt. You need to stop neglecting yourself," I replied with a frown. I had never taken a gunshot in my life, I didn't know how it felt.
But it must hurt. A sigh escaped my lips as I threw my head backward. "In the car, you said I turn you on?"
Just thinking about those words made me a bit flustered. I was standing in front of Charmaine, her uninjured arm wrapped around my waist.
