Alina's pov
"I'm okay, I just remembered something irrelevant," I laughed softly, pushing myself off her body. Charmaine looked at me coldly, her gaze sharp, probing as though she wanted to dig out whatever I had just thought about.
"Alina, this can never happen again. I mean it," she said, her tone clipped, like she regretted everything that had happened. I reached out to touch her arm, but she swatted my hand away.
"Goodnight, miss."
She pushed the door open, and when it closed behind her, I groaned. Why in God's name does she have to be my bodyguard?
My father would definitely be against me dating someone of the same gender, but it wasn't as bad as everyone made it seem.
I walked to the door, locked it, then headed for the bathroom. I could still picture Charmaine's blushing face, and before I knew it, I was giggling at the thought.
