The following day, after a long rest, Valtor and Orea continued on their way, they talked as they walked, mostly about the day before and the struggles they faced fighting those evil creatures, both concluded that they had to get prepared for similar occurrences while still finding their way out of the haunted forest
So how do we prepare ourselves, Valtor glanced at Orea as they walked side by side
She paused, facing him with a sheepish grin, we could battle each other
Valtor grimaced at her, so what, we just start fighting each other for no reason?
Think of it as 'training', it's the only way we could get stronger, she paused,.. or would you rather we wait for something worse to attack us first
Fine, but just training, we're not actually hurting each other, right?
right, Orea replied as she turned to move opposite him, leaving some distance between them
Ready? Valtor confirmed
Let's do this, she responded as yellow and grey eyes glowed simultaneously
She hovered a tornado around her while Valtor covered himself with fire
Orea attacked first, she waved her arms around, sending tree branches his way which he began to burn up one by one
Then she began to pick up dust, causing a fog to block Valtor's sight
Meanwhile he stayed at alert, waiting for her attack, noticing a tree branch flying from above the fog, he immediately dodged while sending a fire ball which Orea easily blew off.
This is actually fun, Valtor commented from inside the fog
More like too easy, Orea drew her arms down, putting off the fog, with boredom evident in her grey eyes, let's take it to the next level shall we. Closing her eyes, she raised both arms and spread her palms towards the sky
Valtor watched as it began to get dark, the sky rumbled and a heavy rain began to fall, he struggled to maintain the fire around him as the rain began to put it off
On noticing, Orea smirked, now it's fun. Bringing up the winds again, she broke off even more branches, aiming them at Valtor.
Valtor moved forward to launch an attack, he shot out his fists in an attempt to produce fire,.. to his dismay, only a poof of smoke formed, causing some of the branches to hit him to the ground. Valtor sat up as he dusted his clothes, noticing he was fully drenched. He watched as Orea let out a laugh, causing him to frown as he stood up,.. fine then, he mumbled, let's play dirty, he began charging towards her
More branches came flying towards him which he managed to dodge, on getting closer to her, he picked up a tree branch and threw it towards her, Orea bent over to dodge and as soon as she did, he sent a fistful of fire and although she managed it blow it off, she fell on her back due to how close his attack was.
Great, we're even,..Valtor commented as he stood above her
By now the rains and the wind had stopped but Orea remained on the ground,..a little help? She asked stretching out her arm
Valtor approached to help her up, taking her arm he began to pull her up but got dragged to the ground instead causing them to end up side by side on the floor, both soaking wet
Valtor glanced at her in unbelief..seriously? Now we're even, she replied as she chuckled heartily
Valtor soon forgot his annoyance as he watched her, she seemed to be having fun, noticing as she smiled cheerfully at him, he smiled back
.. being stuck in a haunted forest didn't seem so bad after all..
