Arthur didn't exactly understand Arcadia as much as he thought he did. He had honestly forgotten about the game as well. There was much more beyond his knowledge. And while the prologue of the game rolled on, he was absent. In fact, he didn't exactly want to be apart of it. Being a hero in the story practically meant you were fated for death. Pretty much every npc in his old guild had died. It had been a few days since he started journeying to the mountains. They were much farther than he had thought. And he had consumed most of the rations that Revan had snuck into his bag without him knowing. He was grateful towards her. But didn't feel bad for abandoning her. During that time he had also learned the rune for 'slow' and did some experimenting in the library. He was able to stop time for 2 seconds and slow time for 5 without his brain and core being shredded. He decided to not stop time unless absolutely needed. And slow time for 3 seconds at most.
He finally stood at the base of the mountain. Eating a small piece of meat before continuing. But he stopped before he continued.
[System has rebooted. Thank you for waiting. New features: complex interface and runes.]
'Geez…took it long enough…'
He opened his status window, everything was pretty much the same except for his skills. His passive skills were put down as attributes. His mastery skills like the moonlight sword and his swordsmanship. His attributes were the dragons body, the dragons memories, the soul of calamity, and calamities spawn. But he also had a title. A singular lone title. Oathbreaker. He opened the description of the title.
[Title name: Oathbreaker Description: All knights swear a silent pact to protect their master until their death, and to never leave their side, by abandoning one's master. One becomes an Oathbreaker. A straggler. Their brand no longer means loyalty. It means deception.]
He stared at the description for a few moments.
'Hm…I really didnt think that through…I didn't know that the oath was silent, I thought I might've just not become a knight. Shit. This means I have to hide the brand. Good thing I don't just walk around half naked…'
He sighed to himself before lifting the hood of the cloak over his head and continuing up the mountain. At the rate he was going at. He would reach the peak in a few days time. The issue was the extreme cold in the higher altitudes.
'Before I get up there…I must learn how to use the white flame of purification. I don't really have a choice. While calamity is easier, it'll wreck my body, and destruction will just wreck my body while not bringing much use. Purification will provide me warmth and keep my body safe. But it'll be hard to keep up if I run into any stray monsters.'
As he thought that in his head. He noticed a stray pack of white wolves slowly creeping up to him. He sighed and drew the moonlight blade. He slowly approached them and waited for the first wolf to attack. As a smaller wolf lunged at him he quickly kicked it away.
'Shit. I really should have learned something I could actually use…I'm a goddamn idiot…'
Thankfully basic swordsmanship was enough to kill a few normal wolves. Though he would probably die if faced with any actual monster. His body guided his blade, he didn't even need to remember how to guide it himself, he simply knew, and before he knew it, the moonlight blade was stained with blood, and so was the snow. The ever so beautiful snow. And so he continued.
