This was the first time Keveelsky had ever felt disturbed by something. It was like a mystery he couldn't solve. He called his assistant and said, "Book an appointment with DR x for me tomorrow at ten thirty." he then hung up before the assistant could say anything. He wanted to understand and compare the gibberish she was saying and what had happened years ago. His thoughts wandered throughout the night, and he ended up sleeping on his study desk.
He was awoken in the morning by the painful wailing of a girl. She kept talking to someone, which confused him further. "Handsome stranger, where are you? You can't disappear like you did 11 years ago. Please come back. He rushed to the girl and saw that she was already awake, but her eyes were blank. She attacked him immediately," Where did you take him? he was only 15 years old. Give him back to me." he dodged the attacks with his quick reflexes and subdued the girl, and asked her with a cold voice.
" What the hell are you talking about?" This was the first time in his 26 years of life that he swore. The girl jumped from the scare but still responded, "I saved him, I was with him moments ago, where did he go?" Keveelsky touched his aching head and retorted, "Look carefully where you are. After being drunk and sleepy by the roadside, could you still have enough energy to save others?" That question brought back the flashbacks from last night. Realizing that the man she had taken for her handsome stranger was her grandpa's nameless grandson, she wanted to smack herself in the face, and she did.
Keveelsky was fed up with her stupid act and stopped her. She apologized to him, appreciated the help, took her handbag, and made way for the door. Keveelsky stopped her and asked, "What were you mumbling yesterday in your sleep? Handsome stranger, did you save, and who was the girl with him?" Havila was first shocked, realizing that she had talked in her sleep, but pretended to be nonchalant about it and answered, "None of your business." She then got out of the condo and tried hailing a taxi, but it was futile. There were no taxis around here, only luxurious cars passed her.
This infuriated her, and she went back to the condo and glared at him, saying, "You knew I couldn't find a taxi here, but you still let me go?" Keveelsky found her expression cute, and this amused him. He snickered and replied," Well, you didn't ask, did you?" Havila took that opportunity and asked immediately, "Then can you lend me your car? I'll make sure to return it before the end of the day." Keveelsky was amused but still kept a straight face and asked back, "If I give you my car, how am I going to work then? Go freshen up first, I will drop you off on my way to work."
She fumed as she approached the bathroom and said to herself, "How can a big shot like you only have one car? just say you are stingy instead of those bullshit excuses." Keveelsky was left there standing in a daze, as that was the very first time someone called him mean right in front of his face. He wondered why that tiny woman he could break with one hand wasn't afraid of him at all. This made him doubt his aura. All the girls he ever met were either extremely infatuated or nervous and scared. Even Tamar was scared by him, although she pretended not to be.
On the other side, Havila, on seeing her reflection in the mirror, was shocked at how disheveled she was. She screamed at the top of her lungs, and the noise brought the man back to his senses. He wanted to go and check on her, but the noise stopped abruptly. He thought he knew why she screamed, and it amused him further. The woman piqued his interest even more. After some minutes, she came out all freshened up, and Keveelsky dropped her off at the hotel before heading to work.
On the way, he still wondered how she managed to pay for that expensive hotel given her current status. Well, his jaw would drop if he came to know about her fortune. She was excellent in many areas, and making money was very easy for her. She learned everything that required unique skills, which is why it was easier for her to find a job than any other casual workers. She also had a smart brain, and companies could hire her just for some consultations. In general, she was capable of affording the hotel.
Today at the Delus corporation, everybody had smiling faces while working. They wondered what had happened to their boss early in the morning, as he was in a good mood and he even greeted them back, something he seldom did. Only the secretary was on tenterhooks as he knew that a smiling boss was the most dangerous boss. He was too abnormal today, and so the secretary prayed silently so that he wouldn't be the target if his boss exploded.
He wished his boss could meet that 'beautiful madam' daily so that he would be spared from the wrath. He suddenly had pity for the boss's current girlfriend, for even she had never made him that happy. That only means the current beauty wasn't an ordinary girl. Not many women could make his boss this happy. It was clear as day that his boss liked her, even though he tried to convince himself that he only admired her.
Because of the good mood of their boss today, the employees felt like the work ended very early today. Time did not lie, so they reluctantly kept their things and went home. Even the secretary was relieved as the boss maintained his good mood throughout the day. He slipped out of work without announcing it to his boss today. He went home planning to get an early exercise with his wife today. Keveelsky watched through the window and saw his secretary gasping for air. He wondered what he planned to do today that he was in such a hurry.
He took his phone and called while watching his reaction. The secretary was scared to receive the call, but he still received it in the final ring. He composed himself and asked, " Boss, is there something I can do for you? I'm already downstairs." He saw his secretary clutching his chest as if afraid of what was to come, and said to him, "Come back upstairs, there are a few things I need to handle before you go." The secretary was hesitant but still obeyed and started walking towards the entrance.
He told him again, " Actually, we can do it tomorrow." He was only testing the waters, but he saw his secretary sprinting and dived into the nearby taxi as if something was chasing after him. He stood there wondering if he had done something out of the ordinary today to scare the man, but there was nothing. He thought he was extremely lenient today and did not even lash out at his secretary. How come he seems more scared when he was happy?
Keveelsky was still smiling as he watched the taxi speed away. His personal phone rang and distracted him. Not many people knew that number, so he received it immediately, only to hear his grandpa's butler's anxious voice, " Young master, master fainted again while taking his evening walk. We rushed him to the hospital, but we received bad news: he only has a few days to undergo the surgery, or his life will be in danger."
Grandpa Delus had lived with splenomegaly for the past five years. He refused all the arranged surgeries as he insisted he wanted a peaceful death. That is also the reason why he encouraged Havila to save the driver first, as he knew his days were numbered. He had not expected the frail-looking girl to save both of them. He was still happy that he got to meet the kindhearted girl, just like his deceased wife, and that is why he wanted to force his grandson to marry her, as he knew his current partner was a gold digger.
His grandson also did not fancy that girl; the marriage promise was a result of her saving him years back. He had his doubts about that girl, but he never wanted to interfere in his grandson's personal affairs. Well, that did change the moment he met Havila. He decided to make his grandson marry her. He had already investigated the supposed savior and knew she lied to his grandson. She was also a victim of the kidnapping, and after the anonymous girl saved them and went to look for further help, she opened her eyes.
She took the opportunity and lied to the first rescuers who came that she was the savior. His grandson was very sick that day, so he did not doubt her and, on a whim, he promised to take care of her and marry her when they were adults. He never investigated the truth, as he was busy tracking down the kidnappers all these years. When all the kidnappers and their secret boss were apprehended, all the traces from back then about the incident had been erased.
That girl was afraid that she would be found out, so she asked his grandson to sponsor her education abroad. She also made him honor his promise of marriage after she finished her education overseas. His grandson took her overseas and has been settling her bills since then. Grandpa Delus had assumed everything and said that if the girl was sincere enough, he would let her marry his grandson, but she immediately cheated with several men overseas.
He remembered on one occasion, he went overseas, a month before he met Havila. He saw the same lad snuggled intimately with one of the doctors. She didn't know him, so she was very bold. Grandpa Delus was very angry, as that was the same girl who promised to marry his grandson after graduating. He rejected the treatment and flew home right away. He was very disappointed when he reached home because he realized his grandson had taken leave to visit the same girl. He wanted to order him back and beat him up, but he held himself back.
He had hoped that his grandson would find her red-handed cheating, but that did not happen. He waited for his return sourly. The fourth day, his spleen acted up again, and he went to the hospital to manage the pain. That was the day he met with the accident. He sometimes wondered what happened to his meticulous grandson. He slipped up on this, and it would cost him his fortune. That is why he took advantage of his disease relapse to threaten him to marry, so that he could see the true nature of that girl and marry a considerate one like Havila.
