Chapter 9 - CHAPTER EIGHT: SWEET TALKING ANOTHER MAN

Keveelsky reached the hospital and found his grandfather already awake and requesting discharge. He barged in and told the doctors to excuse themselves as he wanted to have a proper talk with his grandfather. After closing the door, he sat on a chair near the bed and said, "Grandpa, you are not going anywhere until you receive proper management." Mr Delus snorted as he put on his coat. "I told you to get married, even found a girl for you, but you assumed everything. I am not getting any treatment until you marry or bring me a great-grandchild."

Keveelsky's heart leaped as he thought about Havila's flawless face. He responded, albeit meekly, " But that girl already has someone she likes; she doesn't even take a single glance at me. She doesn't care." Grandpa Delus pretended he remembered something and said, "Oh, what about your girlfriend then, is she also not willing?" Keveelsky cut him and said, "I don't have a girlfriend, just a future wife." He also doesn't know why he is always irritated when people refer to Tamar as his girlfriend.

Knowing that he had already tricked his grandson, he said somberly. " I mean, your savior, you promised her future marriage as a token of thanks to you. Well, this is the future you talked about; it's about time you honor your promise." Deep down, he wanted to tell his grandson about that girl's true nature, but he waited for him to find out for himself. Keveelsky pondered for a moment and said, " She still has two more years to go before finishing her studies; until then, just receive your treatment, then I will marry her immediately after she graduates."

The stubborn old man made way for the door as he replied, " It is just marriage; she can continue her education after she marries you. Give her a call right now and hear her thoughts on this. If it is reasonable enough, I'll get treatment. Keveelsky had no choice but to give Tamar a call, but to his surprise, the voice that came over was a man's. He roared and said, "Give the phone back to the owner." The other man retorted, "I won't do that until I know who is calling. There is no name saved against the number."

Grandpa Delus perked his ears up and watched silently at his dimwit grandson. In the middle of the night, another man receives your woman's phone call, and you still don't suspect a thing. He could only console himself that his grandson did not love that woman; even so, why did he agree to the marriage? He couldn't fathom his grandson's thoughts, so he silently watched as they bickered until the girl came back from god knows where and took the phone.

She came from the bathroom stark naked, walking sultrily. The doctor's boyfriend put a finger to his mouth to silence her and pointed to his phone. She sat on his embrace and took the phone, talking sweetly to the other man overseas, " Kev, what a surprise, you have finally decided to call me after so long. I thought you were still angry with me, so I gave you time to get over it." Keveelsky did not care about her sweet nothings and went directly to the point. " I have already booked a flight ticket for you. Meet me at the civil affairs bureau at eleven am tomorrow." He directly hung up before Tamar could reject.

On the other hand, the doctor was growing impatient with her girlfriend's conversation with another man. He was clouded with jealousy. When the call was finally hung up, he pinned her down and punished her in bed for several hours. Tamar was so fulfilled and tired that she fell asleep immediately. When she woke up and found out that she was all alone in bed, she asked herself," Where did he go early in the morning?" She freshened up and went downstairs.

She found her breakfast ready on the dining table and a sticky note beside it. She read it loudly, "I have an emergency operation, let's meet up later, yours love." She felt sweet and sat down to munch on the food prepared with love. What she didn't know was that there was no emergency operation. The doctor felt threatened by love and was now investigating Kevelsky. He even cancelled the flight he had booked for Tamar the previous night. Let us say it was all in vain, as Tamar herself had forgotten about the overnight phone call.

At the hospital, Grandpa Delus patiently waited for his grandson to give him feedback. He was not shocked by his attitude of command, as that was how he was brought up. That is why he wanted a girl who could subdue him, not just a colorful vase. He said while smiling, "Let us go home and wait for your good news. After your registration, I'll immediately come back and get admitted to the hospital. Keveelsky nodded and discharged his grandfather, and they went home.

The hotel where Havila lived was on his way home, and as he passed by, he saw her getting out of a taxi and slowly walking towards the hotel. Mr Delus saw her too, and he wanted to stop, but it was too late; the driver had already passed her. He gave his grandson a fleeting look and found him dazed in the direction Havila had left. He snickered in his heart and asked, " Are you sure you are not feeling anything for that young lady?"

He pretended to cough to hide his amusement and added, "Even though I am old, my heart jumps every time I see her. If you are not interested, I'll tell my friend to take the opportunity and betroth her to his grandson. At least she will still be a part of the family. That brat is also not bad and can compete with you fairly in business without any underhanded means. That only means that he could be a better husband for Havila. Such ladies with beauty and talents who are not cocky are rare to find. I'll make the call to inform them later."

Grandpa Delus said this deliberately as he wanted to see jealousy in his grandson's eyes, and to his amusement, he did see it. Kevelsky didn't consider his feelings and said, "I already have someone. She will come tomorrow, and you will see her." Mr Delus asked, "But not as demure and beautiful as Havila, right? Keveelsky really wanted to say yes, but he controlled his tongue and said, "She is not that bad. As long as she's loyal and can be a good Mrs Delus, then everything is fine."

After that answer, the journey was silent until they reached the Delus family mansion. Grandpa Delus wanted to go to his private villa, but Keveelsky turned him down, saying he was not stable and he could not stay alone currently. He knew his grandson made sense, so he did not create any ruckus and went to his room silently. He had planned on going back to his house, but diverted the direction as he received his friend's call to meet him at the pub.
