"Why are you staring at me so intently?" I asked Ray, who narrowed her eyes and studied me.
"Yes, it's just..."
"Who are you!?" she asked, a note of demand in her voice.
"I'm just Clare's bodyguard..." but Rae interrupted.
"I don't believe it! You're talking to her like a friend or even a sister, not like a servant to his mistress!"
"So, I'll ask again!"
"Who are you!?"
I could only sigh.
Seriously, why did Clare need to go to the bathroom now? And don't girls go to the bathroom together? She could have at least brought me so I wouldn't be left alone with that little gremlin.
"Does it matter? Rae, you yourself said I see her as a friend or a sister, so does it matter who I am? I definitely won't hurt her," I said, to which Rae relaxed a little.
"Okay... but I'll keep an eye on you," she said.
Well, I couldn't really blame her. I'd probably do the same if some girl who constantly followed my girlfriend around, though it was a bit veiled, of course...
"And how does Clare know about Yu's illness anyway? As far as I know, only a few people have this information, and the queen is hiding it."
"Then why are you also part of that 'few'?" I asked with a smile, to which she merely looked away and didn't answer.
And indeed, she couldn't tell me about her "rebirth," and how she knew so much.
"I hope you're not arguing," we heard Clare's voice and turned toward her.
"No, Rae's just... a bit inquisitive," I said, which Rae didn't like.
"Hey! What's with the pause? You clearly didn't mean that!" she exclaimed.
"You're just imagining things," I replied, to which Rae pouted, and Clare shook her head.
"Anyway, we have to get to class," Clare said, taking Rae's hand, causing her to blush.
We finally entered the classroom, where all eyes were on the three of us.
Clare, ignoring the stares, calmly walked to her seat. Before she sat down, she helped Rae sit down, then sat down herself. I just shook my head again and sat down on Clare's other side.
"By the way, Miyabi, did you know you're a student here too?" Clare asked with a smirk.
"WHAT?" I yelled, causing everyone to look at me, but I ignored it and simply glared at Clare, who tried to look away.
"It's not my fault! It's all Mom," Clare said.
Sigh...
"Clare, you do realize that at 27, I'm too old for this..." I said, and then realized it sounded somehow wrong.
"What?! You're 27?! But you look like you're 16 or 17!" Rae said.
"I'm just well-preserved," I said, trying not to go into details about my situation.
"Anyway, I think I'll get expelled because I'm not going to study," I said.
No, seriously, I've never liked school, and even a magic academy doesn't appeal to me.
"Don't worry, you'll just be automatically given an A in all your classes, and you'll be exempt from all exams," Clare said.
I just stared at Clare.
"What? That's not fair! It's nepotism!" Rae exclaimed, to which Clare simply rolled her eyes.
So, we talked for a bit longer until class started.
"What? I think I forgot my textbook," Rae said, rummaging through her bag.
"I'll share it with you," Clare said, moving the textbook to the center and leaning closer to Rae, causing her to blush.
I've never seen her so... pushy... Even though I taught her fencing, she wasn't like this. Even when she was being taught magic, she did it because she wanted to be the best at everything, but she certainly wasn't that pushy.
We had a couple more lessons after that, and as evening approached, all the students began to leave.
"Lene, this is Rae. Rae is my personal maid, Lene," said Clare.
"Nice to meet you, Ms. Rae," said Lene, bowing.
"No need for formalities, just call me Rae."
"Yes, Lene, she's my second maid and also my girlfriend," said Clare.
As soon as Rae heard the word "my girlfriend," she blushed furiously again. She probably never even dreamed of such a thing...
Lene simply raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
"Rae, you're staying with Misha tonight, and tomorrow I'll be waiting for you in my room..." Clare said, smirking.
I bet I saw the gears in Rae's brain start turning, and she started imagining all sorts of things, so much so that she even started drooling a little.
After that, we parted ways and went our separate ways.
"Clare, aren't you afraid Rae might be intimidated by your assertiveness?" I asked.
"Rae, intimidated? Don't make me laugh! You should know what she asked me to do to her in bed," Clare said smugly.
Good God... have pity on lonely people... I haven't masturbated even since I was reborn, and you're making me imagine...
"So you said she's not a maschoist?" I asked.
"Well, not exactly... At least after we adopted May and Aleya, she became more or less calm," Clare said.
"May and Aleya, are they your daughters?" I asked.
"Yeah… Speaking of which… Maybe it's too early to adopt them?" Clare asked herself.
"Just don't forget to tell Rae, I can already imagine her face when you tell her you have daughters," I said.
Clare just grinned.
"I think Rae would be absolutely overjoyed," Clare said.
Well, it's hard to argue with that, since Rae is simply fanatical about Clare...
