"David, I'm coming to your place" Samantha left a voice message. She could not get him ever since yesterday. She needed the files that was left inside his apartment. She accidentally left it when she asked for advice for the planning. David and she were good partners when she was starting. He guided her and molded her as good business woman. She entered his apartment hoping he was there, but it was quiet.
"David" she called out. She heard some noise which she followed to the bedroom. She could hear whispering. She was having a bad feeling. She rushed to open the door and found the bed all crumpled. She noticed something. Her life was drained when she saw an a lingerie on the floor.
"David" she called out again. Then, David came out half covered with the sheets.
"Who are you with?" she tried to be calm as she kept staring at the lingerie at the corner.
"No one" he bluffed.
"Then, I wonder who is that from" she pointed the lingerie on the floor that was at the corner. David was shocked.
"I can explained..." he prattled as he moved forward to Samantha. "Explain what?" she criticized him. She stepped back as he tried to touch her hand. "Where is she?" she mumbled.
"GET OUT HERE" she screamed. The young lady came out covered with her loose clothes. Her hair was disheveled. She was shaking as if scared of Samantha.
"Do you like my fiance?" she asked straight away. The young lady sneaked a peek at David as if unsure what to say. "Don't be shy, afterall you two already done more than I can imagine" she said. This surprise the young lady.
"Shara and I was drunk..." David tried to answer Sam, "My question is for her to answer" she interrupted him. She again looked back at the young lady.
"Again, do you like David?" she asked again. The lady nodded. Sam breathe heavily and turned around. Her emotions was in chaos. She wanted to strike at her, but she knew better. She grabbed her files and slammed the door on the way out.
David and Shara were left alone in the apartment. David's mind was wrecked. He froze as he saw Samantha walked out. He did not notice her distraught face. But he felt that she needed to be alone. He was confused as well to what had happen last night. He was certain that he love Samantha and he could not imagine himself without him. He never did see himself indulging to desires. He looked at Shara perplexed as he was gathering his thoughts and trying to understand what is best to do. He picked up his jacket and looked back at her. "Shara, what happened last night is a mistake. We were both drunk, and I see you only as a friend and nothing else" he said, which cause the young lady cried. She was hurt of the word mistake. Shara knew that for her it was not a mistake. She wanted it to happen. "I cant live without her" he added before he ran off to follow Sam. He knew Sam needed time to be alone, but he had this feeling if he did give her time alone, Sam would walk away from him. He could not let that happen.
Shara was left alone. She loose strength when it sunk to her that she was abondoned. She could not stop herself cry as she held on the blanket around her naked body. Her body was with mark that David last night and he told her it was all a mistake. But she could not stop thinking at that night he kept calling her name.
Samantha shut her phone. She did not want David to contact her. She made herself busy for the whole day. She was busy finalizing the plan in a place no one knew including Jacob and David. She always do this when she needed to have time for herself. It was a great idea she did not tell anyone with this place. It was a small haven for her.
She relaxed as she was all preoccupied. She did not notice the man sat across her. When she closed her laptop, she was surprise. It was the same man last time.
"Why hello" she said.
He smiled and greeted her back. "How is it going?" he asked,
"Its quite hectic actually," she hid the files away. The guy smirked knowing what she was doing. But he just ignored it. He did not want the files but he did want her. He was conscious to approach her as he thought it may scare her away. However, he did notice that she was careful to be approach by him as well.
"Last time, I forgot to introduce myself" he started off, "My name is Edward Thompson" he handed his hand to greet. Samantha looked at him with a smile and greeted him back. After that simple gesture, they continued to converse without care.
"What happened?" Jacob asked David who was sitting in despair on the couch. He still could remember Samantha's reaction earlier. He could not stop seeing it in his mind. Jacob on the otherhand was clueless to what had happen. He looked at his soon to be stepfather as the other man was distraught. He was trying to dicepher to what he just told him. "Big bother, I am one of those who wanted you together. But I feel that this mistake is bigger than I could comprehend. Tell me what did you screw up?' he asked without hesitation. Jacob looked at him with red eyes. "I..." he was trying to compose to how he should tell him. "I slept with Shara" he pushed those words out, "We were drunk and..." he tried to explained but before he could finish his explaination a strong fist came to him. He was punched to the ground. "I dont get it. I witess how you treasure my mother. How could you?" Jacob was furious. He was trembling as he was controlling his fist from flying back to David's face. He paged his secretary, "GET ME THE HR. I WANT SHARA MATTHEW'S FILE OUT" he said and looked back at David who was already trying to sit back to the couch. "My mom once told me, I should never follow my father's footstep. If I hurt a girl, its like hurting her. But I don't know this feeling that I want to hurt that girl" he said, which made David looked back at him. He knew the kid's personality. He was tame lion in front of his mother but he could be vicious to others. "Shara is not at fault..." David tried to defend her, "AND WHO IS AT FAULT?" Jacob inserted, "My mother?" he laughed. "I just saw you together with my mother with such loving eyes, and now here you are trying to ask for my help to find her" he inserted the hard fact to David's face. He stepped closer to him. "Is it truly an intended? Do you have feelings for that whore?" he added which made David paused. He was disturbed how the kid described Shara, but he could not rebuked it. Jacob eyes were sharp as if he was trying to kill David in his mind, but he choose to step out of the room.
Samantha went home. She arrived with an empty house. There was no servant around the time. Samantha always remind the servants to be out around 5pm. She turned the lights on and found shards on the floor. She thought of the possibility that David came and talked to her son.
Jacob was busy in the office especially looking through the files for the young lady who was a bit younger than David. He was angry to what this lady did to her mother. "Sir, Miss Matthew is here" his assistant said.
