Charles walked out from Sam's house. He looked back as his mind wondered. His thoughts keep going back to how his ex-wife react in seeing him unannounced. He could not help himself criticize himself of the outcome they had now. He could not turn back time, but he was certain he could make this turn around. He deeply sighed before going inside his car. He sat quietly as he continued to ponder. He grabbed his phone from his pocket and made a call.
"Contact my son to make a deal" he said before driving away.
Charles thoughts , "It had been fifteen years since my wife and son disappeared. Yes, I considered my ex-wife as my legal wife no matter what she pointed out. I was outraged at first and made foul decisions, but I know I still can atone from it. She might love someone else at this time, but it did not mean she loved me less. I searched from every nook of this place until I could finally find them. It might be because they intended not to hide from me anymore. They did not fear from the past anymore.
I tried to keep low key especially in tabloids. I was patient with how things became. I guess this was enough."
"Sir," his secretary, Jeremy came in. He stood stiff as he looked at his boss with cold stare at him. He sensed danger as he waited for a signal to go on with his report. Charles turned around; not meeting his eyes. He thought of this a hint.
"Madame's Fiance had slept with his junior subordinate. She happened to find them in his apartment. Madame did not stay long, she just left. The trailer did not see any encounter from her fiancé since then." he added. Charles could no longer contain the smile. He was certain to what outcome at that time. He was in the same predicament last 15 years ago. He was well-aware her anger would not subside easily like what had happened between them. He could not contain his pleasure the chance he could have for this. He thanked gleefully for the stupidity of her fiancé.
"What a wonderful news" Charles exclaimed with glee. He smirked as he could imagine the distraught man. His ecstatic feelings were visible as Jeremy stood still in the spot. Jeremy was not yet done. There was an uncertain male approached the madame. He did try to trace the background but for some reason he could not find a single information. "Sir, there is a man approached the madame not long ago. He was a stranger that somehow ended befriend the madame in a few days" Jeremy added carefully. Charles smiled turned sour. "Then find out who was that guy and find for his purpose in approaching Samantha" he ordered before he continued his work. Jeremy left without any further question.
A few days later, Jacob came into his father's company. He brought along his secretary. He always brought him along as he promised his mother. His mother feared that he might be taken advantage for being so young. He strode with long strides as his secretary followed without saying a word. All eyes were at them. The company knew their boss had a kid that he did not met for a long time. He was really a monster at those time. But lately, his monstrosity lowered down especially when he found his son. The escort lead them to the conference room. It was a room surrounded with glass walls. Blind curtains covered them to make sure not to see much inside during the meeting. Charles was already sitting on the chair unsure to how his face looks like. He was excited to finally meet his son. But unsure what would happen during this meeting.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Jacob" Charles greeted when Jacob was a foot away. He was trying to contain his smile. He did not want his aura too intimidating toward his son. His face showed stoic expression as he handed his hand to shake. Jacob, who was alike his father, did the same. They shook hands tightly as if relaying messages through their hands. Charles knew then what his son wanted. He smiled as he sat across his son.
"Its quite a great deal for a young man to finally stand into CEO of an uprising company" he started the conversation. Jacob was still on guard, unsure what his father thinking. He did not lose sight of his father's stare. Charles signalled Jeremy to brought along the document. "As we proceed, I would like to insert this concern as a father. Your ideal approach is admirable, but in a long run it could be a hindrance of growth" he started as he looked thoroughly the document that was passed a long time at him. "A fifty-fifty share could cause a downfall of your company" he added.
He placed the documents down and stared at him with sharp stares. The room felt suppressed. Jacob could clearly understand the power his father had. He was amazed how such a single person able to radiate such aura. "As father I will not allow my only son to be taken advantage, I will have 20% in assisting for your growth. Learn fast my son. If you like I will like to recommend a good school for it" he added as Jeremy took note of every detail they had discussed.
Jacob could not help smile. "You are gracious to me Sir. I may be your son, but you don't have any idea of what kind of person I am" Jacob interrupted Charles. Then the bearable aura became heavy. Jacob could not stop himself sweat and chocked.
"No matter what you and your mother say, you are my son and she would always be my wife. This very company is yours, but I know you want to stand on your own. I will let you be for now and enjoy being your side as support. I have no interest in your company. My only interest is you and your mother" he declared. Jacob flinched. From this statement, Jacob understood why his mother left and hid for years from this man. He was strong opponent and should not be underestimated.
"Despite that, you and mother are divorce. When I was growing, I made sure that mother can rely on me. I don't want her to suffer from such circumstance that you two have" he tried to fight back the suffocating pressure from his father. "These circumstances are normal for a married couple, my dear son. She might had given up on our family, but I know her very much that she wants a whole family. It might sound crazy from a bastard who betray her trust, but I will never give up on OUR FAMILY" his strong tone made Jacob fear his father.
