Earlier;
"It's about me mom." She finally confessed. "What did you just say?" Elena asked, just to be sure she heard right. "I, I said…it, it's about…me, mom." Ellen stammered, bowing her head as she held her hand in a fist form. "Wait a minute…are you telling me you are really the girl in that disgusting video after I defended you from everyone, including my in-laws?" Elena asked with a baffled expression, after remembering the viral video she strongly fought against with her mother-in-law and husband. "Mom I can explain…" "Did you know about this?" Elena pointed to her husband, not minding the words of her daughter. "You asked me not to tell you anything other than it's not true, remember?" Aaron said, holding his wife who seemed to be falling. "No! Ama, you wouldn't! You are not that type of girl; I didn't raise you this way. You are too smart for this. You wouldn't act so recklessly. Is he the senior you talked about?" Elena said, adamantly remaining in denial. "Sweetheart calm down, please." Aaron spoke. "Mom, I fell into his trap, because I love…" Ellen began in tears, but everyone in the mansion heard the resounding slaps that cut her off. "So help me God, if you say you loved him, I'll kill you myself! What does a fifteen-year-old know about love huh?! Forget love, since when did you start paying attention to the advances of men? Since when did your brain stop functioning for you to make yourself so cheap for a boy?! A tape Eleanora, a sex…Oh my God…" Elena fumed, holding her chest and belly as she felt pain everywhere. What was happening? How did she lose focus on her daughter? How did she change so much within months? No, this was not her daughter. "Honey sit, please." "Don't touch me! Ha! Do you know the things she has written here? Ellen, where did I go wrong? Tell me. How could you break my trust this way? I defended you, I trusted you no matter what. I thought I knew my daughter, this, this is not my daughter!" Elena threw her laptop away. "Mom…" "Don't you dare call me that! I don't know who you are, but you are not the girl I raised! You lied to us, to me, constantly. You guilt-tripped your father into thinking he accused you of an atrocity, and you…on that very day, decided to have…how dare you, Eleanora?!" Elena slapped her again, Aaron holding her back firmly this time. "Mom I'm so…" "Get out! Leave! I don't want to look at you. You are not my daughter, and I am not your mother! Leave! Before I murder you. Shameless girl! How could you be so stupid? We warned you about him, Ama, we warned you…" Elena broke down, going on the floor in tears and pain, Aaron holding her in an embrace. "That's not our daughter Aaron; she doesn't tell lies. The girl I raised wouldn't even look at a boy, much less avail herself to him. My daughter is too smart for that. She knows he hurt Stephanie, she couldn't have been so stupid…" Elena wept bitterly, her trust and defense in her daughter, shattered to a billion pieces.
Ellen left her room in tears as the truth was finally out, and like she always feared, she had broken her mother. She was foolish to think she would console her in an embrace after refusing to believe she could lie to her this way. Leaving the house, she ran to one of the cars, having no will to live with her mother's rejection. "Leave! You are not my daughter, and I am not your mother." Elena's words of disown echoed in her ears as she started the car, zooming out of the mansion. Henry had promised to teach her how to drive, but Chris was the one who did it. He had taken her to a race course in Florida with Steph, to teach her how to drive, since Steph already knew how to. She had mixed feelings that day, but she buried them, focusing on her present as they taught her little by little. She was yet to perfect her skill, though, because they couldn't learn for long. Chris had promised to resume teaching her when she vacated this semester after their return. With the little knowledge she had about driving, Ellen drove out of the estate at top speed, her only thoughts being how her life was ruined, because of one guy she thought loved her. Henry had betrayed her, Mom had disowned her, and going back to that hellhole called school was already dreadful enough. With tears blinding her vision, and no sense of direction, the car somersaulted before she realized she had been hit by a fan milk truck on the highway. As to what time she even got to the highway was a mystery to her. In her fit to leave, she did not wear a seatbelt as the car flipped her over in it as well. The scene was brutal as there was blood and broken glass everywhere, cars stopping, and people rushing to the site. Pieces of glass pierced her face and body, while her head hit the road, as she flew out of the car through the windshield, with her lack of seatbelt, and as a result of the somersault. While others took out their phones to record what was happening, the wise ones among them called 911.
Aaron was still consoling his furious, yet pained wife, when he received a call from his friend in the Korle-Bu teaching hospital. "Yeah, Sammy, what's up?" Aaron answered, still holding his wife. "What did you just say? ... Jesus Christ! …Yes, that's her, she was wearing jeans with a blue top. Oh my God…transfer her to my hospital, I'll be there shortly." Aaron ended the call in apprehension as he dialed George's number. Samuel had recognized the almost dead girl, whose blood left an indelible trace on the floor, when he strolled her to the emergency unit as Aaron's daughter. He had seen her at the wedding and on occasion when he visited the family. He wasn't sure at first, but he had to call his friend, who verified the blood-sullied clothes the girl was wearing. He prepared for her transfer as he tried to stabilize her. Elena got alarmed when Aaron described an attire that matched what Ellen was wearing with shock emotions. "Is something wrong?" She asked, wiping her tears. "Elena, your daughter…" "Don't call her that, she's not my daughter!" She cut him short. Aaron was too frustrated and agitated to argue with his wife. "I have to go; I have an emergency. Please get some rest." He said instead, dialing George's number again after he didn't answer the first one. Elena sighed, thinking about what had just happened earlier, and got upset again. She was heartbroken. No mother would be happy to receive such news about her daughter, and the fact that she had the guts to admit it and tell her she loved…oh God, she will kill that girl if she appears before her again. Now, she owed her mother-in-law an apology. "How could you do this to me, Ama?" She whispered with pain, crying once again. Her daughter was no longer innocent in every light of the word. "What is it, Aaron? Why are you calling me so much?" George feigned annoyance after answering his friend's call. "Where are you? My daughter's been involved in an accident." Aaron went straight to the point, realizing Ellen had taken the Ford from the garage. He got into his car and sped off. "Jesus Christ, what do you mean by accident? Where is she now?" George exclaimed in alarm, startling his wife. They were having dinner together in his office, as he and Chris were working late today. "She's being sent to the tower. Are you at the hospital?" Aaron answered, watching the people gathered at a spot on the road, a towing car picking up his car, the one Ellen drove. The condition of the car made Aaron anxious about his daughter's condition as well. What would he tell his wife if their daughter didn't make…no, he can't think about that. He would save her no matter what. "I am." George's reply brought him back to the call. "We must save her, George; it's fatal. I can't lose my daughter again, George, not after finally finding her after all these years. We must save her." Aaron lamented, not knowing when his tears began to fall. "We shall, I promise on my medical license, that we shall save her. You won't lose her, I promise." George assured his friend, leaving to prep the OR as he waited for the ambulance to arrive.
