Elena went to her daughter's room to call her for dinner, when she saw her laptop on her study table. It looked like she was typing something, and she went to check. She's not one to look at what her daughter does, unless she involves her, but something on the screen caught her attention. They arrived in Ghana about a week ago, and Ellen had told her she liked a senior in school, but he had completed. Elena tried to be a supportive mother and said "Ama, it's normal to like a boy. You're growing up, and the attention will get to you at some point, but as long as you don't let it get to your head too much, you'll be fine. I had my first crush as a teenager too you know? But I dated only after getting to the university, I know you are smart and focused, just think that it was not meant to be, and not brood over it. You'll meet someone, like I met your dad." Ellen felt worst after that council, she gave her mother a fake smile and went to her room to cry. Since then, she's been writing her feelings down on her laptop's word, like a diary. School reopens tomorrow God willing, and she was dreading going back. "Aaron!!" Elena screamed for her husband in horror as she read what looked like the diary entry of her daughter, her heart shattering. Elena could not believe what she just read, she wouldn't believe it. "Aaron!!" She called again, grabbing a seat as her head felt light. "What happened my love?" Aaron rushed into the room with Ellen behind him. "What happened mom?" Ellen asked with worry. "Eleanora, care to…um, explain this to me?" Elena pointed to the screen with shaky hands, using her English name to show seriousness. "What's that?" Aaron asked, checking the screen. Ellen's heart dropped when she saw her words come to view, she began to shake. Aaron realized what his wife just read, and he prepped himself for anything. There's no escaping now, Elena had to come out of denial-Ville. "Ama, child, come here. Is this an essay you have to submit or something? Or, you are reading a new novel about someone else? Because, this can't be about you, right?" Elena questioned with ache. "Mom…it's…" "A story about someone? Tell me about it, were you asked to pick moral lessons from it? Aaron, I wonder what they learn in school these days. I think the girl in this story really needs some help, to give yourself to a boy like that? It's a good thing I didn't raise you this way. This might be another Eleanora, I almost…" "It's about me mom." Ellen finally confessed.

The monitor beeped steadily as the girl on the bed had her eyes shut, with a band aid on her head, and a cast on her arm, and leg. There were plasters all over as they were yet to save her ruined face. Aaron watched his daughter on the bed, who was unrecognizable, with straps all around her and his heart ached. He had just assisted an emergency surgery on her, and she was yet to wake up. Chris sat by her bed, ignoring his duties for the day. He was devastated when he was told Dr. Wilson was in the theater, only to know he was operating on Ellen. "Chris." "Dad, what happened? Why is Ellen on the operation table?" Chris asked anxiously when his father came out of the OR. "Son, I need you to be a professional right now and see her as a patient, so you don't get too emotional. Ellen was involved in an accident today, and it's critical. We just operated on her, but she is in a coma, she might not make it Chris." George had explained with deep emotions, Chris rushed behind the girl they were taking to one of the VIP rooms in the hospital, almost in tears. Aaron looked like he would break down any moment now, and the worst part is Elena was too upset to come see their almost dead daughter. "Uncle, how is she?" Chris asked when he entered the room. "Not good, Chris. Not good." Aaron answered, finally letting his tears flow.
