Synopsis
Christmas break is supposed to be a time for peace, parties and festive cheer. But for Molly and her best friend Sarah, the holidays are about to become a nightmare. Staying behind at their sorority house while the town prepares for Christmas, the two friends are enjoying the quiet-until news breaks of a brutal murder in a nearby park. Then the rumours begin. A dangerous man has escaped from a psychiatric institution just days earlier, and whispers spread that the killer has returned to his hometown. As fear grips the community and the winter nights grow darker, Molly and Sarah begin to wonder just how safe they really are. With Molly's boyfriend, Adam, and his best friend, Cameron, caught up in the growing panic, suspicion spreads and nobody knows who to trust. The killer could be closer than anyone imagines, and the truth may be far more terrifying than the rumours. The snow is falling. The mist is rising. And somewhere in the darkness, someone is waiting. This Christmas, the season of giving becomes a season of killing.
