Chapter 6 - Episode 6: The First Crack in His Control

Morning arrived too quietly for a world like theirs.

Meera Verma woke up with a strange heaviness in her chest. Not pain… not fear… something in between. Like a thought she couldn't remember, but her heart refused to forget.

She sat up slowly, brushing her hair back.

"Why do I feel like something is going to happen today…"

She shook her head, forcing herself to get ready.

Life doesn't wait for feelings.

So she didn't either.

On the other side of the city, Kabir Rajvansh hadn't slept.

The file still lay open on his desk.

Meera Verma.

Her life. Her struggles. Her innocence trapped in a world she didn't even understand.

And for the first time…

Kabir felt anger.

Not at others.

At himself.

"Boss," his assistant spoke carefully, "your meeting with the Russian syndicate is in two hours."

Kabir didn't move.

"Cancel it."

The man froze. "But—"

"I said cancel it."

A pause.

Then Kabir finally stood.

His voice dropped lower.

"Find out who has been watching her."

Silence.

This was new.

Dangerous.

Personal.

Because mafia bosses don't ask about random girls.

They erase them.

Or ignore them.

Kabir was doing neither anymore.

Meanwhile…

Meera was at college.

But today felt different.

Whispers in corridors.

People looking at her strangely.

She ignored it at first.

Until her friend pulled her aside.

"Meera… someone was asking about you."

Meera frowned. "Who?"

Her friend hesitated.

"I don't know… but they looked dangerous."

Meera's heart skipped.

Dangerous?

Why would anyone ask about her?

And then… without warning…

Kabir's face flashed in her mind.

For the first time… not as a mystery.

But as a possibility.

That evening, she left college early.

The sky was turning orange.

But peace didn't come with it.

She walked fast, gripping her bag tightly.

And then she noticed it.

A black car.

Parked across the road.

Still.

Silent.

Watching.

Her steps slowed.

Her breath tightened.

This time… she didn't run.

She just stared.

Inside the car…

Kabir Rajvansh sat in silence.

Watching her.

For the first time… not from far away.

But close enough that she might feel it.

His assistant spoke quietly.

"She's the one, boss?"

Kabir didn't answer immediately.

Then—

"Yes."

A pause.

"She's the reason I'm breaking every rule I built."

Meera took a step forward.

Then another.

Her heartbeat rose.

She didn't know why… but she wasn't afraid like before.

Something inside her wanted answers more than safety.

The car door opened.

Kabir stepped out.

And the world stopped again.

Rainlight. Silence. Distance collapsing.

Meera froze.

For the first time…

she was seeing him not as a shadow.

But as a real man.

Their eyes met.

No chaos.

No orders.

Just silence heavy enough to change everything.

Meera whispered without thinking—

"Why are you always… near me?"

Kabir didn't respond immediately.

Because the truth was too dangerous to say aloud.

Then finally—

"Because I should not be."

And in that moment…

the first crack formed in his control.

Not in his empire.

Not in his world.

But in the wall he built around her.

To be continued… 💔
