-----

The world fell silent.

Noah couldn't move.

He couldn't even breathe.

The enormous creature in front of him was easily the largest living thing he had ever seen. Its massive body blocked the street, towering over the buildings like a walking mountain.

Cracked, black skin stretched across its muscles like hardened lava.

Its arms were long enough to drag across the asphalt, leaving deep trenches in the road.

And those glowing red eyes…

They were locked directly onto him.

Mira's grip on Noah's arm tightened painfully.

"Don't move," she whispered.

But Noah wasn't planning to.

His legs had gone numb.

Every survival instinct inside him screamed that the creature could crush them both with a single movement.

But then something happened that neither of them expected.

The giant monster slowly lowered itself.

Its massive knee hit the ground with a thunderous BOOM, sending cracks across the street.

Dust rose into the air.

The creature's enormous head lowered.

Until it was bowing.

Directly toward Noah.

Mira's fingers trembled against his arm.

"…No way."

Noah stared in disbelief.

The giant creature remained kneeling.

Completely still.

Behind them, the smaller monsters that had gathered in the street lowered their heads even further.

The entire area looked like some strange ritual.

Like a kingdom greeting its ruler.

Noah's voice came out weak.

"Why are they doing this?"

Mira slowly stepped backward.

Her eyes never left the kneeling creature.

"I told you…"

Her voice shook.

"They only kneel to one thing."

Noah swallowed.

"The King."

The word echoed in his mind again.

King.

He looked down at his own hands.

They looked normal.

No claws.

No strange markings.

Nothing that explained this.

"I'm not a king," he said quietly.

The giant creature suddenly moved.

Both Noah and Mira flinched.

The monster slowly lifted its head.

Its glowing eyes studied Noah carefully.

Then it did something even stranger.

It spoke.

The voice was deep.

Ancient.

And it echoed like thunder.

"…Alive."

Noah froze.

"You… can talk?"

The creature's massive head tilted slightly.

"…Alive."

It repeated the word again.

Like it was trying to understand it.

Mira looked terrified now.

"Monsters aren't supposed to talk," she whispered.

But the giant creature wasn't finished.

Its enormous body slowly leaned forward.

Each movement caused the ground to shake.

Noah's heart pounded violently.

The monster lowered its massive face until it was only a few meters away from him.

The heat of its breath washed over him.

It smelled like ash and blood.

For a moment, the creature simply stared at him.

Then it spoke again.

"…You… returned."

Noah's eyes widened.

"Returned?"

The creature's glowing eyes flickered strangely.

"…King…"

Mira stepped back another step.

"Noah… I don't think it sees you as human."

Noah slowly shook his head.

"This has to be some kind of mistake."

But deep down…

He wasn't so sure anymore.

The creature lifted one massive hand.

Mira gasped.

"Noah!"

But the monster didn't attack.

Instead, its giant claw slowly opened.

Inside its palm was something small.

A glowing object.

Noah stared at it.

It looked like a crystal.

Dark red.

Pulsing faintly with light.

The giant creature lowered its hand closer to Noah.

"…Yours."

Noah frowned.

"What?"

"…Heart."

The word made Mira's face turn pale.

"Noah… don't touch it."

But Noah felt something strange.

The moment he looked at the crystal…

Something inside his chest reacted.

A faint warmth spread through his body.

Like his heart was responding to it.

The crystal pulsed again.

Brighter this time.

"…Return," the creature said.

Noah hesitated.

His mind screamed that touching something from a giant monster was a terrible idea.

But his body…

His body felt drawn to it.

Like gravity pulling him forward.

Slowly, he reached out his hand.

Mira grabbed his arm.

"Are you crazy?!"

"I… don't know," Noah admitted.

But the warmth inside him grew stronger.

The crystal pulsed again.

Almost like it was calling him.

Finally, Noah's fingers touched it.

The moment his skin made contact—

Everything exploded.

Pain shot through his chest like lightning.

Noah gasped.

The crystal shattered into pure red light.

The energy rushed into his body.

Memories flashed inside his mind.

Not his memories.

Ancient cities.

Monsters bowing before a throne.

A dark sky filled with creatures flying overhead.

And at the center of it all…

A figure sitting on a massive throne.

Watching the world below.

Noah screamed as the images flooded his brain.

The monsters around him all lowered themselves to the ground instantly.

Even the giant creature bowed deeper.

"…King…"

The word echoed again.

But this time…

It came from hundreds of voices.

Noah collapsed to his knees.

His chest burned.

Something inside him was changing.

Mira rushed forward.

"Noah!"

His eyes slowly lifted.

For a moment, she froze.

Because his eyes had changed.

The normal brown color was gone.

Replaced by a faint red glow.

"Noah…?"

He blinked.

The glow slowly faded.

His eyes returned to normal.

The warmth in his chest disappeared.

The monsters around him slowly lifted their heads again.

The giant creature remained kneeling.

Noah stared at his hands again.

Still normal.

But now…

He felt something different.

Something new.

Like a presence inside his body.

"What… just happened?"

Mira shook her head slowly.

"I think you just proved something."

"What?"

Her voice trembled.

"You're not just the last human."

Noah looked up.

"What do you mean?"

Before she could answer—

The giant creature suddenly growled.

A low, warning sound.

Its massive head turned toward the skyline.

Noah followed its gaze.

In the distance…

More shadows were moving.

Dozens of them.

Flying.

Huge winged creatures circled above the city.

And they were heading straight toward them.

Mira's face drained of color.

"…Hunters."

The giant monster slowly stood up again.

This time it didn't bow.

Instead…

It stepped in front of Noah.

Like a shield.

The ground trembled as the flying creatures descended from the sky.

And one terrifying thought formed in Noah's mind.

If monsters were bowing to him…

And hunters were coming to kill monsters…

Then there was only one reason they were coming.

They weren't hunting the monsters.

They were hunting him.
