Chapter 1: Rebirth of Lucien Kurohart

Here I am again.

Dying.

What kind of joke is this?

I already died once—so why am I dying again? Maybe I'm just not meant to live at all.

Fifteen years ago, I was twenty-six years old. I remember it clearly. I had just finished work and was heading home, excited to watch the newest episode of the anime I had been following for months.

Then—

A truck.

Seriously… after waiting so long for that episode, this is how I die?

Everything went dark.

Warmth.

That was the first thing I felt.

Warm, soft… and strangely comforting.

…Where am I?

I tried to open my eyes, but my vision was blurry. My body felt weak—too weak. I couldn't move properly.

Wasn't I just in a hospital?

Then I realized something was terribly wrong.

Why was I being held like this?

Why were my arms so small?

Before I could panic further, a gentle voice reached my ears.

"My, you look just like your father," the woman said softly, smiling down at me. "Black and white hair… exactly like him."

She kissed my forehead.

My brain froze.

Why did she kiss me?!

I stared at her face—or at least tried to. She was beautiful, with kind eyes filled with warmth.

Wait… am I a baby?!

I tried lifting my hand and nearly fainted from the effort.

This isn't a dream…

A second voice spoke nearby.

"My lady, the young master truly resembles the lord," the maid said respectfully. "And he isn't crying at all. Such strength… just like his father."

The woman—my mother?—looked surprised, then smiled.

"I thought something felt strange. You're right… he's very calm."

My vision spun.

Young master… lord… maid…

Before I could think any further, exhaustion overtook me.

Darkness returned.

"Prepare the bed for the baby," the woman said gently. "He needs rest before his father returns."

"Yes, my lady," the maid replied. "The lord will arrive tomorrow morning—or afternoon at the latest."

"Good. Please be quick… I'm feeling tired."

The maid bowed and left.

Soon after, I was laid down beside her.

She fell asleep smiling—happy.

And I passed out again, still unable to believe what had happened.

A Story of Love and Defiance

The woman who gave birth to me was Evelyn Kurohart, a commoner by birth but noble in heart.

My father—Lord Alaric Kurohart—was born into one of the most powerful noble families in the kingdom. He was meant to become the next head of his house: intelligent, talented, and one of the strongest knights in the country.

But he fell in love with a commoner.

That alone was unforgivable.

His father demanded he marry the daughter of another noble house for power and influence. His stepbrothers, jealous of his strength and brilliance, despised him.

When threats turned into ultimatums, Alaric chose love over blood.

Assassins were sent—but they failed.

With the help of his kind mother, Alaric fled, was granted ownership of a distant estate, and disappeared from noble society.

That was how my parents began their life together.

And how I was born into this world.

The Next Morning

"Good morning, my handsome child," my mother said softly, smiling at me. "I hope you slept well."

So it's real…

I've been reborn.

The maid entered the room and bowed.

"Good morning, my lady. How was your night with the young master?"

"I slept well," my mother replied. "Thank you."

"The lord will be arriving soon."

Her eyes lit up. "I can't wait to see his reaction when he meets our child."

"I've prepared your bath, my lady."

"Thank you. I'll feed him first—he must be hungry."

She lifted me gently and began breastfeeding.

My soul screamed.

I'm too old for this!

Why am I enjoying this?!

No matter how much I complained in my head, my body betrayed me.

Afterward, she bathed me, played with me, and laughed softly for nearly an hour.

For the first time since my rebirth… I felt safe.

"My lady," the maid announced, "the lord has arrived."

My mother's face glowed with happiness.

Moments later, a tall man entered the room, his presence calm yet powerful.

"Where is my wife?" he asked urgently. "And my child?"

"I'm here," my mother said warmly.

He rushed forward, eyes locked onto me.

"So this is our son…" he murmured. "He has the same hair as me."

"Yes," my mother said proudly. "And when he grows up, I'm sure he'll look just like you."

My father stayed silent, deep in thought.

Then he smiled.

"Black and white hair… born after hardship…"

He looked at my mother.

"His name shall be Lucien Kurohart."

Her eyes softened.

"Lucien… what a beautiful name."

She hugged me closer.

And just like that—

I was no longer just a man who died twice.

I was Lucien Kurohart.

If you want next, I can:
