CHAPTER 85 THE GUILD HALL
The next day came by in flash.
It was Saturday, no classes, no morning drills.
This was the only day the students were free to search for a hobby and engage in activities in the city.
Some of them were excited cause they get to do what they wanted.
Someone like Lan.
"Yes!! I've been wanting to come here!"
Lan exclaimed with arms in wide as he stood on the polished floors of the Guild Hall.
The Guild Hall was one of the largest buildings in Avalon City.
As a tier one city, Avalon's guild Hall attracted many from far end wide.
It was more than a building, it was the beating heart of the kingdom's adventurers, mercenaries, scholars, and public heroes.
Its foundation was carved from enormous blocks of silver-gray granite.
Above rose walls of pristine white stone veined with streaks of gold, their surfaces engraved with countless magical runes that shimmered faintly whenever the evening sun bathed the city in crimson light.
Massive pillars lined the front entrance, each sculpted into the likeness of legendary adventurers who had once defend the city.
A broad staircase stretched from the bustling street to a pair of colossal oak doors reinforced with enchanted steel bands.
Above the entrance hung the guild's emblem, a magnificent sword crossed with a staff and shield beneath the wings of a soaring dragon. The crest radiated a gentle azure glow, visible from nearly every district in the capital.
The plaza surrounding the hall never slept. Merchants displayed gleaming weapons and enchanted trinkets while blacksmiths hammered molten steel in nearby workshops. Horses, tamed danger beasts and carriages waited patiently beside elaborate hitching posts.
Adventurers clad in armor of every shape and color gathered in lively groups, laughing over successful hunts, arguing about monster rankings, or preparing for expeditions into the unknown. The air buzzed with excitement, ambition, and the constant promise of glory.
Stepping through the enormous doors was like entering another world, in Lan's eyes.
The Grand Hall was breathtaking.
A cathedral-like chamber stretched upward for nearly six stories, its vaulted ceiling disappearing into shadows broken only by floating crystal chandeliers suspended by energy crystals alone.
Each crystal emitted a warm golden glow that reflected across polished marble floors until the entire hall gleamed like sunlight trapped indoors.
The walls displayed hundreds of banners bearing the insignias of elite guild parties from every generation.
Between them rested enormous monster trophies, a dragon's skull, the horn of a mountain titan, the petrified claw of an ancient basilisk, and countless relics recovered from forgotten civilizations.
Every trophy told a story, of impossible battles won through blood and determination.
The first floor was a hive of organized chaos.
Long reception counters curved along the eastern wall where uniformed guild attendants efficiently registered adventurers, accepted completed quests, and distributed rewards. Behind them stretched towering shelves filled with ancient ledgers and rune crystals that recorded every guild member's achievements.
Directly opposite stood the Quest Board.
A grand wooden board with polished edges and adorned with glowing crystals.
Thousands of quest pinned from top to bottom ranging from F class quest to S.
Nearby, an enormous tavern occupied nearly a quarter of the hall. The aroma of roasted meat, fresh bread, and spiced ale filled the air as adventurers celebrated victories or mourned fallen comrades. Loud laughter, clinking mugs, and spirited songs blended seamlessly into the heartbeat of the guild.
Wide staircases curved elegantly toward the upper floors.
The second level housed meeting chambers where guild officials negotiated contracts with nobles, merchants, and even the Kings Knight. Elegant conference rooms lined the corridors, their walls enchanted to ensure complete privacy.
Higher still lay the training complex.
Dozens of crystals reinforced arenas allowed swordsmen, beast masters and beast tamers to spar without fear of damaging the building.
Beyond the arenas were classrooms where veteran adventurers instructed recruits in survival techniques, combat tactics, danger beasts ecology, and the history of ancient ruins.
The guild believed that knowledge saved as many lives as strength.
Restricted corridors guarded by elite knights led to the Hall of Masters.
Only Guild Executives, S-Rank adventurers, and individuals granted special permission could enter. Behind those ornate doors were strategy chambers, archives containing forbidden knowledge, vaults overflowing with priceless artifacts, and the Guild Master's office.
The office itself overlooked the entire city through floor-to-ceiling crystal windows. Rich mahogany shelves lined every wall, filled with centuries of records and ancient tomes. A massive desk carved from the trunk of a World Tree stood at the center, while maps of kingdoms, monster territories, and unexplored continents covered one wall.
Avalon Guild Hall operated on its own and sponsored by many, the king including.
Just like the castle and it's workings, the Guild Hall had it's own dealing to the common folks.
It was like it's own kingdom and the activities carried out are not the concern of the king...as long as no plot of treason are implemented.
