THE BEAST WITHIN

CHAPTER ONE
PROLOGUE
The once sunny sky had become dark, as if a plague had befallen. As the dark cloud cover the atmosphere, all creatures ran to cover, birds in their nests, rabbits in theirs holes and others, and without warning, the heavy down pour began. It was like the gods where angry at the Earth, ready to flood it again.
In a thick forest, two figures could be seen running at abnormal speed, like they were trying to escape the gods wrath. Indeed they were escaping, but not from the gods, but others. The two figures face came into view, a man and a woman, they were exhausted, it was obvious, but they powered through, cause their life depended on it. They leaped above tall trees and branches with ease, like a normal day routine, as they go deeper into the forest.
"We can't keep running like this" the woman said, a small figure was clutched tightly in her arms, a baby, wrapped in a thick cloth. Despite the harsh rain, the baby remained calm, sleeping maybe.
"We're gonna get caught eventually" she added. She was worried, but mostly about her baby.
"We can't stop now, Reyna" the man replied "we just can't".
Ray, grabbed the baby from his wife, allowing her to keep up with his speed. They kept running deep, but they could tell, their pursuers where right behind them.
As if the gods where frowning upon them, they suddenly halted on their tracks, they've reached the dead end of the road. Before them was a deep canyon, with a water fall of thousand meters deep.
"Shit" Ray cursed "I forgot about the path. Let's turn left "
But it was already too late, just as they were about to change direction, three men had appeared and stood in their way. The men were clad in the same leather armor, black in color, their muscular frame elude an aura of dominance, killing the wet plants around them.
"That far enough Ray"
One the men spoke as he stepped forward, a dark grin on his face.
"The king wants you dead"
"Speak for yourself Barron" Ray replied. He handed the baby to his wife and stood in front of them.
"Stubborn as usual" Barron chuckled "but you're right. Plus, am only doing what's best for the kingdom. Your clan has been wiped out, you two are the last of them, or three" he pointed at the baby "I forgot that Reyna had just given birth. Hand over the baby, I'll be sure to raise him well in your stead"
"I would never!" Reyna snapped.
"You talk alot Barron" Ray said"but its not going to happen"
Barron exhaled "I tried asking nicely"
The smile on Barron's face suddenly turned to a frown "this marks the end of the Tiger clan". Thick black aura began emitting from Barron's body, forming the shape of a large gorilla. The gorilla pounded it's chest and let out a big roar.
"Reyna, go without me" Ray said "I trust you'll raise our child to be a fine warrior. Now go!!" Without any further warning, Ray pushed his wife off the cliff without thinking. He knew his wife can handle herself.
One of the men suddenly leaped over Ray with the aim of going after Reyna.
"I don't think so!" Ray suddenly appeared right in front of the man, grabbed him in the neck, and hurled him straight to the ground heavily with a thud.
"You're forgetting that am still the leader of the Tiger clan!!" Ray yelled as his eyes glowed, his iris changed, similar to that of a cat , red aura began to emit out of his body as it took a form of a large tiger.
"ROAR!!!!"
The sound wave blew the surrounding trees off the ground.
"Your clan is long dead!" Barron yelled back, his gorilla rushed towards the tiger, accepting the challenge. The tiger also launched forward , and with its sharp claws, pierce it into the gorilla's hide, pushing backwards into the forest.
"What are you two standing around for?!!" Barron yelled at the two men who came with him, Ron and Clide. "Unleash your animal spirits, this not going to be an easy fight!!!"
The two men nodded as they released their aura, taking the form of different animals. Ron had a large bull, and Clide, a large frog. The spirits dashed to the direction of the tiger and gorilla, while the men faced the direction of Ray and Barron , who had engaged in their own fight.
They both dashed towards Ray, but Ray had seen them coming. He jumped away from Barron, leaving a wide gap between them.
"You may be strong, but you're exhausted and outnumbered" Barron said.
Ray knew he was right, not about being outnumbered, but the part of being tired.
Ray was a powerful warrior, surely dealing with three skilled warriors was a small thing. But he was tired, he had been running from the kingdom for many days along with his wife and new born son. He had used a lot of spirit energy in dealing with the King's guards and soilders, yet they were relentless.
"Tiger spirit, return to me" Ray called out.
The tiger was battling with the other spirits, it was strong, yet was weak due to Ray low spirit energy. Upon hearing it's master's call, it disappeared back into Ray's body.
"If I die today, it's for a good cause" Ray said "but you..." He chuckled "you are no longer needed in this world"
Ray's aura suddenly spiked , it spread around the place forming a dome like structure, covered part of the forest, trapping himself, alongside Barron Ron and Clide.
Panick began to settle in Barron's heart "What do you think you are doing?!!!" He yelled "using your domain when you no longer have spirit energy, are you trying to kill yourself?!!!"
"That's the point, am happy my wife and baby are ok, and that's all I need to care" Ray smiled.
Barron tried summoning his animal spirit but to no avail , as long as he was trapped inside Ray's spirit domain, no other spirit energy could work . This was one of the deadly skills that he feared.
"Explode!!" Ray snapped his fingers and the domain energy began to tremble.
"No!!" Barron yelled "No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
BOOM!!!
The domain suddenly exploded, destroying the area of land it covered, sending multiple sonic waves all over the forest.
After some time, the thick black smoke began to disperse, revealing the amount of destruction the explosion had caused.
There was no one in sight, no one could have survived such blast.
