Chapter 6 - The Leak

Victor stood outside the NovaTech building, the city lights casting long shadows around him. He held the USB drive in his hand, the evidence that could bring down the board. Aisha's words echoed in his mind, "Be careful, Victor. They have eyes everywhere." He took a deep breath, his eyes scanning the surroundings. The building wasquiet, the only sound the hum of the city's nightlife.

entered the building, nodding to the security guard. "Working late, Victor?" The guard smiled, a familiar face. Victor smiled back, a brief flash.

"Just catching up on some work, Mike." The guard nodded, going back to his station. Victor took the elevator to the top floor, the silence oppressive.

He entered his office, closing the door behind him.

He sat down at his desk, the USB drive plugged into his computer. The files opened, a treasure trove of evidence. Victor's eyes scanned the documents, his mind racing. This was it. This was the proof they needed. He leaned back in his chair, a plan forming in his mind. He would leak the evidence to the press, and the board would be exposed.

The phone on his desk rang, breaking the silence.

Victor's eyes narrowed. Who was it? He picked up the phone, his voice low. "Victor speaking." The voice on the other end was familiar, a cold, calculating tone. "Victor, it's Ahmed. I know what you're planning." Victor's gut twisted, a surge of adrenaline. "What are you talking about, Ahmed?" Ahmed's chuckle was low, menacing. "Don't play games, Victor. I know you have the evidence.

Meet me at the old clock tower. Now." The line went dead, the silence oppressive. Victor's mindracing, connecting the dots. Ahmed was onto him. He needed to move, and fast.

He grabbed the USB drive, his eyes scanning the room. He couldn't trust anyone. He would meet Ahmed, but he would be ready. He left the office, the night air cool on his skin. The clock tower loomed, a dark silhouette against the city skyline.

Victor approached, his eyes scanning the surroundings. Ahmed stood at the base of the tower, a cold smile on his face. "Victor, you're predictable." Victor's eyes narrowed. "What do you want, Ahmed?" Ahmed's smile grew wider.

"The evidence, Victor. Hand it over." Victor's grip on the USB drive tightened. "I don't have it." Ahmed's eyes seemed to bore into his soul. "Liar.

You have it, and you'll give it to me." The air was thick with tension, the silence oppressive. Victor's mind racing, searching for an escape.

Ahmed took a step closer, his voice low. "You have one chance, Victor. Give me the evidence, or.." The threat hung in the air, a weight pressing down. Victor's eyes locked onto Ahmed's, a plan forming in his mind. He would play along, for now.

"Okay, Ahmed. I'll give it to you." Ahmed's smile was a cold, calculating curve. "Good boy, Victor." Victor handed over the USB drive, his eyes scanning the surroundings. Ahmed took it, his eyes gleaming with triumph. "You're here, Victor.

You should've stayed out of it." The clock tower seemed to loom, a dark presence. Victor's eyes locked onto Ahmed's, a plan forming in his mind.

He would get the evidence back, no matter what.

The game was on, and Victor was ready. He took a step back, his eyes scanning the surroundings.

Ahmed's smile grew wider. "You're making a mistake, Victor." Victor's eyes locked onto his. "I don't think so." The night was dark, but Victor was ready. He would fight, no matter what.
