Chapter 39 - Chapter 37

[SHADOW DUNGEON]

[NEXT DAY]

"Ok, great…it looks like everyone is here." Suho said as the mission leader.

He added, "there is no need for lengthy speeches…you all know what is at stake here and you know the mission and your roles."

"This is a negotiation mission…that means we will use our words and not our sword." Suho shot a glance at Hunter Liu Zhigang.

"Wha? Why are you looking at me? I like talking too." Liu Zhigang said.

"Hunter Sung…if I may have a word with you." Gaia said politely.

The two step away from the group far enough to have a private conversation.

"Is everything ok, Lady Gaia?" Suho asked respectfully. In fact, ever since the red-gate incident, Suho had been super extra polite with Gaia.

"Yes, all is ok. I wanted to tell you that when we get to the Void…I may need to introduce you in a manner you will not like." Gaia said with embarrassment.

Confused by that statement, Suho asked "I'm sorry…I don't understand. What do you mean?"

"Outside of earth…well…umm…you are known as the White Shadow God." Gaia answered with embarrassment.

During her time on earth, Gaia had learned and gradually accepted the fact that neither Jinwoo or Suho viewed themselves as Gods. In fact, no one on earth viewed them as Gods. The people in general had the deepest respect for them…and viewed them as heroes…not as Gods.

"White Shadow God? Who came up with that name? Suho asked in annoyance.

"Your dad is known as the Dark God and you are the White Shadow God." Gaia clarified.

Even more annoyed, Suho exclaimed, "Aww…those names are terrible. They make us sound like evil villains. That is pure propaganda!"

Gaia smiled…Suho and her dad were something special.

[VOID – WARPED SPACE]

"General Kavar…sir…are you sure we are heading in the right direction."

Kavar sighed…honestly, he had no idea where they were going…up until now it was more of a feeling that was guiding him. His soldiers had followed him for years and trusted him with absolute devotion…he could not show weakness in front of them.

"We need to continue this way." Kavar said with confidence.

Another soldier approached them with urgency and said, "General! There is someone approaching!"

"Prepare for battle!" Kavar ordered.

Immediately the 26 Cherubims and Seraphims stationed themselves into tactical formation and prepared for the coming fight.

Seconds later, Suho and the party came out of the gate created by Arsha and her void insects.

The two sides looked intently at the opposing party.

"We come in peace." Suho said as he took the lead.

He continued saying, "we did not come to fight…we came to talk."

The Cherubims and Seraphims looked confused…gentle murmurs could be heard.

"Is that…is that Supreme General Gaia?" one soldier said…more murmurs followed.

Kavar approached Suho's party in order to get a better look.

"Supreme General Gaia, that is you! What a day! You have no idea how good it is to see you. We thought you had perished when our universe fell." Kavar said with relief.

"General Kavar…it's certainly good to see you…you were always a reasonable one. We hope you will lend an ear and listen to what we have to say." Gaia said firmly.

"Who are you friends? Kavar asked.

"This is Suho Sung…the White Shadow God." Gaia said as she pointed toward Suho.

Kavar and his soldiers were stunned. The previous murmurs turned into hushed voices and loud undisciplined sounds. The soldiers were clearly alarmed by the sudden appearance of the White Shadow God.

Kavar bowed his head at Suho and said with respect, "My Lord…I apologize if I offended you earlier…I had no idea who you were. I meant no disrespect."

The other Cherubims and Seraphims did the same, they bowed deeply for a prolonged period of time.

Suho said, "there is no need to be so formal. As I said earlier, we are not here to fight…we are here to talk."

Kavar looked confused but said nothing.

Sensing their confusion, Suho added, "You are currently headed towards my domain…the Dark Universe as you call it."

An intense fear overtook Kavar and his men…like seeing your deepest fear materialize right in front of you.

"The…the…the Dark Universe? No…no…no…I know this looks bad…but we didn't mean to…we didn't mean to threaten or invade..." Kavar said as he struggled to form words.

He looked back at his soldiers and shouted, "DROP YOUR WEAPONS NOW!"

The soldiers immediately dropped their weapons.

Kavar continued, "My Lord…words can't express our apology. Our actions were not intended as an act of war. We had no idea we were intruding into your domain. We have no desire to fight you."

Suho did not interrupt…he calmly listened while he absorbed every detail.

"If not for war…then why are you here? Suho asked.

"We are on a rescue mission my Lord." Kavar said earnestly.

Suho and his team were now intrigued.
