"A rescue mission. Can you explain that?" Suho asked.
"It's a rather long story…but I will be glad to tell it…except that this part of the Void is very unstable…I already lost four soldiers due to the violent Void shifts. Can we move to a more stable region?" Kavar asked.
"Sure…but before we do…will you accept this?" Suho extended to Kavar a Pledge of Honesty.
A Pledge of Honesty is an unbreakable pledge between to parties to tell the absolute truth. Neither side is able to lie.
After Kavar accepted the pledge, Suho lead them through a portal.
[RULER'S DOMAIN]
Suho led the team to Rulers Domain…a dimension between earth and the void where the Rulers and their armies reside.
It looked like heaven…a place full of light and soft radiance that felt like a warm embrace.
Gaia smiled…it felt like home to her.
Kavar and his soldiers also sighed deeply as they took in the sight…it too reminded them of home, before the war.
In the distance, Rulers and their soldiers were training. One Ruler approached the group.
Liu Zhigang briefly discussed the matter with the Ruler and the Ruler quickly made arrangements for the two groups to discuss their matters privately and in comfort. A large meeting room was made available to them.
"Now that we are in a more comfortable location, let continue our discussion." Suho said.
Kavar spoke calmly as he explained their mission, "My Lord, thank you…its good to be here. It reminds us of home. That is precisely our mission…home."
"Long ago, our universe was invaded by the Empire. It was a brutal war…many Cherubims and Seraphims died. Our God was not able to produce soldiers fast enough…and soon we were completely overrun."
"Sensing that the war was lost, our God gave three unique artifacts to three of his subordinates. He ordered them to flee as far as possible and as quickly as possible in different directions. Our God then ordered the remaining Cherubims and Seraphims to disperse and flee as well."
"Most of the soldiers thought this was mercy…they thought our God was sparing them from death by ordering us to flee…but the truth is that our God was creating a smoke screen. By sending millions of angels in different directions, it became difficult to track the three carrying the artifacts."
"Our God was captured, imprisoned, tortured, and after some time executed." Kavar said with great sadness in his voice.
"The Empire is evil…pure evil. They invade universe after universe…killing and devouring everything in their path. Our universe was different though…there was something special in our universe…something hidden…something the Empire desperately wanted."
'The Leveling System' Thalia thought to herself.
"Instead of devouring our universe, the Empire sent millions of scouts to hunt down the fleeing Cherubims and Seraphims…they could not afford to devour our universe until the artifacts were found. The scouts were ordered to capture all Cherubim or Seraphim…they were taken as prisoners for interrogation and tortured followed by a painful execution."
"What came next was a long and brutal "gorilla-warfare", as you people say. Groups of Cherubims and Seraphims banded together and fought the Empire in small skirmishes throughout the universe. We have been fighting like this for years now."
Suho interrupted and asked, "I thought you said this was a rescue mission."
"Yes, I was getting to that…we learned that one of the Seraphims entrusted with an artifact was captured by the Empire a few days ago. We know the location of the Empire stronghold where our brother is being held…and we plan to rescue him before the Empire gets their hands on the shard."
"The Empire stronghold is a castle and its heavily guarded…we don't exactly the forces stationed there…but we believe its considerable. We know this is a suicide mission…but each of us is determined to see this through."
"We have no right to ask anything from you…but can you help us?" Kavar pleaded.
