Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Is This Your Last Words?

In the business class cabin of a Boeing airliner, Alex smashed straight through, crashing into row after row of lavishly equipped seats and reducing them to wreckage.

When the last seat shattered, Alex finally saw his target. Edi Orr, missing his left ear with his horribly disfigured cheek.

Veins bulged all over the man's body, and an iron-black color spread across his skin, turning him like Venom in the blink of an eye.

Alex didn't bother thinking about it and slammed into him head-on.

Edi Orr didn't even have time to let out a grunt before his entire body was sent flying backward. He smashed through a wall and flew into the galley, scattering everything inside and leaving it in total chaos.

Electric sparks flickered in the galley, and blue smoke rose into the air.

Whether the target was dead or not, Alex didn't care. His eyes glowed deep red, and two beams of light blasted straight into the galley.

As Alex swung his head, the beams carved wildly through the galley, shredding the room and the cockpit behind it into pieces.

Chunks of the cabin, large and small, slid down. Alex's field of vision suddenly became empty.

He saw Edi lying on the ground. The lower half of the man's waist had been sliced open, and his right arm was nowhere to be seen.

Even so, he still wasn't dead. Flesh and blood rapidly grew, rebuilding a new body.

The process was clearly extremely painful. Edi let out a string of screams as his spine bulged upward, and then bone spikes burst through his skin one after another.

Probably afraid of being attacked again by Alex, Edi suddenly jumped out of the plane and landed in the shadows of the terminal hall.

Alex frowned slightly, rushed out, smashed through the plane's body, and landed on the ground.

In the darkness, a figure rapidly twisted and warped. Then, two clusters of red flames burned and moved within the shadows.

Suddenly, that figure lunged out.

Just then, a helicopter happened to pass outside, and its blinding searchlight shone into the hall.

It let Alex see clearly that Edi had completely turned into a monster.

His height had stretched to around two point four or five meters. His upper body was severely deformed, a row of bone spikes growing from his back. His left arm extended past his knees, while his right arm was normal in length, but the hand had become a massive claw.

Black short fur had grown all over his face. His nose was gone, and his face now looked somewhat like a bat's.

Rows of dense, sharp teeth protruded from his lips, like the vampires of legend.

Moving at incredible speed, he appeared in front of Alex in an instant and shouted, "Tonight, the myth of the Homelander will fall!"

Edi swung his giant claw, the sharp talons closing together and stabbing at Alex's chest like blades.

The people in the helicopter saw this scene clearly.

They were staff from BBC Radio. A reporter on board let out a gasp and spoke into the camera.

["Everyone, did you see that?"]

["A monster. A monster is attacking the Homelander!"]

Edi's claw slammed into Alex's chest, creating a ring of compressed air. But the talons that could easily pierce steel not only failed to break Alex's skin, they even shattered at the tips.

Edi's blood-red eyes suddenly shrank. Immediately after, a row of bone plates like shark teeth grew along the outer side of his left arm.

Turn!

Swing!

Edi whipped that long arm around and chopped at Alex's neck.

Another wave of screams erupted from the helicopter.

But in the next moment, the reporter saw Edi's arm snap, bending at a twisted angle. The arm bone punched out through flesh and skin, spraying a burst of fresh blood.

Alex closed his eyes and smiled, "What did you just say?"

He suddenly opened his eyes. Two beams of light shot out.

Edi screamed and leaned back, barely dodging the beams. He twisted and rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the vertical sweep that followed.

"Pretty nimble."

Alex smiled and vanished in a flash.

He could easily keep up with A-Train. There was no way he couldn't catch Edi.

So while Edi was still rolling, Alex had already appeared behind him.

He reached out, pressed a hand against the back of Edi's head, and smashed him violently into the ground.

BANG!

The entire airport shook.

Head down and feet up, Edi was driven straight into the floor like a planted onion.

Alex lifted his foot and kicked again. Edi's waist twisted out of shape, and his whole body flew backward.

He smashed through a large section of the hall's windows, flew out onto the runway, and only came to a stop after bouncing and rolling several times.

At this moment, Edi's entire body was deformed. No one knew how many bones had shattered.

But soon his body writhed, muscles pushing the bones back into place, rapidly restoring him.

By the time Alex floated out of the terminal, Edi had already climbed back up, laughing loudly.

"It's useless."

"I'm immortal."

The words had barely left his mouth, Alex was already upon him.

Both palms slammed against Edi's ears. Edi let out a shrill scream as his entire head deformed, his eyeballs and tongue bulging out.

Alex smiled.

He clenched his fist and smashed it into Edi's lower abdomen.

With a bang, a column of blood exploded out from Edi's back. Alex had blasted a hole straight through his body.

Next, Alex unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks.

When he finally stopped, Edi no longer looked human.

But this lump of flesh wriggled for a moment and then returned to its original shape.

Only, Edi was clearly exhausted.

He kept gasping for breath.

"So that's how it is."

"An incredible recovery ability."

"No wonder you're called a 'disaster.'"

Alex crossed one arm over his chest and lightly pinched his chin with the other.

Despair showed in Edi's eyes.

He already knew that even after injecting the "Holy Blood," he was still no match for the Homelander.

"Monster!", Edi stared at Alex and said, "But don't get too happy."

"I'm just the first wave. There will be a second wave, a third wave!"

"In the end, we will destroy your evil country!"

Alex nodded, "On that point, I agree."

Edi screamed hysterically, "Darkness will come from across the ocean. It will swallow all sunlight. Everything will wither away. Only the Night Nation will stand alone, surviving the ages!"

"Is that your last words?", Alex flashed in front of Edi, gripping his shoulders with both hands and smiling.

"Guess what."

"I'm going to punch a hole straight through your so-called Night Nation and your bullshit darkness."

"Like this!"

His eyes lit up. The deep red glow grew brighter and brighter until the entire airport was dyed red.

BOOM!

A deep crimson torrent of light blasted out from Alex's eyes like a cannon, instantly burning Edi's head and half his chest to ash.

Alex suddenly lifted his head, letting the roaring beam sweep into the sky, tearing apart the thick clouds above the night and slicing through the massive silver disc before vanishing at the far end of the darkness.

Slowly, the deep red beam faded away.

Alex watched as the corpse in his hands gradually lost its sheen, then disintegrated from the inside out into drifting particles, vanishing without a trace.

At that moment, information appeared on Alex's retina.
