"Gunther... stop looking at me like that." Lan Chu said helplessly, looking at Gunther, who looked like he was about to cry.
"Are you really going to quit?" Gunther asked.
"That's right, I'm going for an interview today. I'm very confident." Lan Chu said assuredly.
"Okay~" Gunther wiped the table with a wronged expression.
"Gunther?"
"I just... it's a shame. I can barely hire any decent waiters here, except for Rachel and you..." Gunther lamented.
"Rachel? A decent waiter? Love makes people blind, Gunther. If you love someone, you must be brave enough to express it, or else, someone else will snatch her away!" Lan Chu said.
"I don't dare... Rachel is so dazzling, so beautiful, so lovely... I..." Gunther covered his face shyly, then continued, "I really don't know what kind of person can win Rachel over..."
"Ross can~" Lan Chu sang, imitating Phoebe.
Gunther's expression suddenly changed.
"I hate him! But I still don't dare. Rachel will definitely refuse..." Gunther said while wiping the bar counter.
"That's true~" Lan Chu accidentally spoke the truth, but seeing Gunther's almost tearful expression, she restrained herself.
"Gunther, actually, you don't have to hang yourself on one tree. You should tie ropes to several different trees. Look over there, that girl isn't worse than Rachel, is she?" Lan Chu pointed to a blonde beauty by the window.
"She looks even harder to pursue than Rachel..." Gunther muttered.
"Uh... What about Janice? She's funny, she looks decent, and she must be single right now." Lan Chu suggested.
"Do you hate me that much?" Gunther asked in confusion.
"Not this one either... Then..."
"Okay, but I'm crazy about Rachel. I can't stop, I'll die if I stop. Also, Ella, I have no problem with you quitting, but if the job outside doesn't work out, you can always come back." Gunther patted the table, indicating his sincerity.
"Thank you, Gunther."
"Ella, let's go." James walked out of the restroom, and Lan Chu looked over.
"I'm leaving, bye~ Gunther." After saying goodbye, Lan Chu followed James into the car and started heading to the interview location.
The interview location was in the Wealthy District, full of large detached villas.
"Ooh, rich people. I wonder if the salary will be double mine now..." Lan Chu muttered to herself.
James led Lan Chu to a villa in the center. The interior decoration was European style... "Hi, James."
"Hi, Ella, this is your boss, Pierce Rothe. Pierce, this is Ella Lan." James introduced them.
"Hi." I reached out my hands, but then felt like it exposed me as a poor University student, so I pulled them back.
"Okay, Ella, you are the first person to come for this job. Your interview is very simple. I'll give you two hours. If you can get my son to like you, you can have this tutoring job." Pierce said.
"Great, how much is the salary?" Lan Chu asked, her eyes shining.
"6,000 US dollars a month. Is that acceptable?"
Over forty thousand RMB, Lan Chu thought to herself. That was more than three times what she made at the Coffee Shop!
"Accepted!"
"That's good. I was worried you might think it was too little." Pierce said.
Lan Chu clenched her fist, realizing she had agreed too quickly... "Okay, then you can start. My son is in the second room on the left on the second floor. Go ahead, good luck." Pierce said, then looked at James and continued.
"James, we haven't played golf in a long time. Let's go play for two hours."
"No problem."
Lan Chu secretly tugged on James's sleeve and quietly asked, "Are you as rich as he is?"
"I live next door to him." James replied.
Lan Chu looked up at the ceiling... How lucky!
